Will owners of the 2007 Shelby GT500 be so kind as to help answer these questions for me? As used GT500's are popping up with better pricing packages, I am seriously looking into purchasing one. My current 05GT has 60k miles on it and would like to stay low miles. That and to be honest with you, it's all about the whine of the SC! Thank you...
1- What is your average gas mileage... city/hwy? 2- Do you enjoy the ride... city/hwy? 3- Is there a hop when gunning it from the line? 4- I'm not sure but... what color are the guages? 5- Are the tires to easy to spin? 6- How does it control in the rain? 7- Exhaust... rate it. 8- What mods have you done and have they made a difference? Explain. 9- Do you see yourself owning this car for much longer? 10- Is it a fun car?

If you need answers to those questions then you dont need it. Not trying to be a dick. The Shelby is not for the average joe.

What the hell... Did a 5 year old write this? Who cares about that kind of stuff when you are buying a car like a Mustang. Maybe if I was going to buy a hybrid or a family sedan would I worry about Gas Mileage, driving in rain ect...
Gas mileage is worse than the GT, traction is worse, it sounds better than a GT, aftermarket parts are WAY more than a GT. Sure it would be a blast to own one, and I have considered buying one soon too but right now I think i'm better off sticking with my GT and modding it. When I get the mod bug out of my system i'll probably buy one and leave it stock.

First of all, im not an average Joe... second of all...it would be stupid NOT to research a vehicle before purchase... no matter the year make or model.

Yes, A 5 year old logged onto the forum, drives a 05 Mustang GT and posted this post.
The people who care about this stuff are the people who drive their cars daily, like researching a vehicle before purchase and care enough to know answers to the questions they have. If you cannot be helpful than why would you even post something? I've come for help... that's what these forums are for.
Thanks for the useless input.

Thank you. So the aftermarket parts cost more? That's expected I guess.

If he can't come to this forum and ask a question about a mustang, whats the point of this forum being open to the public? Thats the 2nd time I've seen you bash someone for asking a question. Maybe that stuff is important to him. If it bothers you, skip it and move on

First, just like he has a right to post on a public forum, so do I. Second, I'm not the only one that thought questions were retarded. Third, I do skip over some post that are worthless and others I like to stir the pot in and I am for sure going to comment when someone is thinking about spending $50K+ on a car and wants to know the color of the guages. Fourth, If he wants me to stay out of his threads about a GT500 then post it in the GT500 forum where it belongs.
And to the OP, Seriously, researching a vehicle, that's what you are doing??? What color are the guages, Exhaust, tires easy to spin... It's a 500hp supercharged car, what do you think. You drive a GT, is it easy to spin the tires in that. C'mon, you ask a stupid question and that's what you are going to get.
Lay off the poor guy... he's excited. I can't answer your questions but I would recommend joining a Shelby forum and asking those same questions. You may receive a warmer response.

You guys, like I've said before in other threads with other topics to fuel people up, if you dont have anything nice to say or anything worthwhile to input, then why waste anyone's time, especially yourselves, to post and bash on someone. Just disregard it and it will go away. To you his questions might be irrelavant, but to JOSHYGT, these are valid questions and deserve to be answered.

Hey there,
SOME Aftermarket parts are more expensive (and I wouldnt say WAY more expensive - its a matter of perspective). Many of the parts on the GT500 are the same parts that are on the Mustang GT (or their aftermaket counterparts are the same on both cars).
Hope this helps some.

A note - unlike most, my GT500 is my daily driver, and I drive her in the rain and light snow. I bought Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Season tires, and am very happy I did!
1. I get 17-18 mpg during the week (commute), and 22-23 mpg on long highway trips. These assume normal shifting around 2500-3000rpm. If I step on it, in-town mileage can drop as low as 11-12. 2. The ride is comfortable. Maybe a bit soft, but to me it rides better than my '06 GT Vert did. 3. Big-time wheel hop. As someone else mentioned, LCAs/UCAs and a few other mods can (mostly) cure this. I haven't done it yet. 4. Same MyColor option as the GTs, but with a red-white-blue (red speedo, white center gages, blue tach) option. 5. Duh. 6. I had no problems in the rain, even with the OEM summer tires. Just drive a little slower. 7. Quieter than the GT, which is a good thing - you can hear the supercharger whine! :) 8. None (except the signed Shelby dash plaque). 9. Forever and ever and ever. 10. DUH. Most amazing car I've ever driven, hands-down.
Good luck!

1.With my current set up 16-17mpg. 2.The ride seems better to me than my 06GT and quieter on the hwy. less cabin noise at speed. 3.YES. can be cured with a couple rear suspension mods easily 4.search on google 5. 6.fine with stock tires. only been in the rain 2 times. 7.Same exhaust from an auto mustang GT. Should be replaced ASAP imo. I think a 500hp car should sound like a 500hp car. 8.most guys do a CAI, axle-backs, and custom tune. Yields b/w 60-80hp at the wheels and for @ $1500. 9.hopefully 10.yup
