Default Flowmaster or Magnaflow?

I have a friend who is looking for a new exhaust. He has a 2008 GT and is deciding between a Flowmaster and Magnaflow system. He wants to know which exhaust is the better way to go.
Also which gives out more horsepower? Also will the 05-07 system fit the 08? Thanks.

any axle back mufflers will get you next to nothing in HP gains, so what you want to look for is sound. between the 2 you have to choose from i vote for magnaflow. but i also recommend boomtubes.

the flows are too quiet for my taste. the magnaflows sound more muscular and deeper, w/out too much drone. but check out this review from the guru on boomtubes if you havent seen it already.

Im surprised that you guys are saying Magnaflow. I have heard bad things about Magnaflows on Stangs like bad fitment, bad sounds, and poor performance.

Thanks for the help. I will pass it along to my buddy.

MagnaFlows sound great WOT, but have no drone at cruising speeds. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...62242206882486

I used to think Flowmasters sounded good only on the old Fox bodies, but a friend of mine has Flowmasters that dump just before the axle. This is the only configuration of Flowmasters I've ever heard on the S197 that I think sounds good.
