I have developed the hots for a set of Shelby GT500 wheels.  I have the 18 x 9 in. stock polished Bullitts on now.  The Shelby's are 18 X 9.5 in.  Not a problem.
My question is this-  What is the backspacing and offset of the GT500 wheels?  There are several options on the aftermarket and I don't want them sticking out too far.  I plan to remove one of my wheels and do some measuring to see what I've got now.
The dealer and a Ford Tech Rep haven't been any help.
Thanks

Frank

Don't know if this is too late for you, but the Shelby 18 x 9.5" wheel has 7.125" backspacing and a 45 mm offset (page 34 in the current FRPP catalog - you can download this catalog from this page, BTW).  The outermost point on that wheel is about 3.6" outboard of the mounting surface.

Not sure how that compares to your wheels, but all of the 18 x 9's in the catalog except the Ford GT front wheel seem to be about 6" backspace / 24 mm offset (~4.15" outside).  The Ford GT wheel is 6.9" backspace / 50 mm offset (~3.1" outside).

Thanks for the response, Norm.
I removed one of my wheels and measured it.  Backspacing measured 6.8 in. and I found out later that it is listed as 6.82- close enough.  I calculated the offset as 58 mm.
The wheels I am looking at have backspacing of 7.21 in. and 50 mm offset.  I made a 1/2 scale representation of both and the 9.5 in wheels will pretty much sit where the stockers do, with the extra width taken inboard and outboard.
I have ordered them from American Muscle.  The black machined versions as I don't think my Vapor Metallic would look as good with chrome.  This will pretty much do it for the near future for mods for me.  Time to let the finances recover for a while.

Thanks, again
Frank

Order them from Summit Racing.... Got mine for $1028 on the doorstep then went to Tire Rack for the Pirelli's.  Also, you will need the TPMS sensors and straps.  I ordered these from Team Ford...
