We're pleased to announce that our good friends over at DSS have just released a newly designed 900hp 3.5" Aluminum Driveshaft for the 07-09 Shelby GT500! Frank was so generous to send us a complimentary one for us to put on the LethalGT500 project car. The shaft is super light weighing in at only 16lbs and is well capable of handling the power most of the twin screw GT500 guys are making. DSS also incorporates a new dampner system for the GT500 shaft which will help prevent any type of harmonic issues which the GT guys face. We'll be installing one of these after our track outing on Wednesday as that will be the last day for us to get a crack at track times in 100% pure stock form.

This is the shaft that the car really needs, it's the real deal. The 2007 Shelby GT500 was dealt a bum deal in the drive shaft department. This is our DSS's designed 3-1/2" drive shaft that is completely different that any other shaft on the market today for the car. All other manufacturers are making a 4" shaft that has a clearance issue, when the car is lowered or if there is more than 2 people in the car the 4" tube will hit the floor, Dss's all new 3-1/2" shaft will not have those issues. This shaft is designed for 900HP and had solid joints (made to go 50,000 miles with out making a mess under the car). This kit comes with everything to make this a job that can be done in your own garage.
