MOst GTPer's get a gauge pod. That is a good way to tell that they are modded. It won't, fortunately ;), tell you how modded. Other things to listen for.... the louder the supercharger, the smaller the pulley in most cases (more boost). Other than that, just the regular things, listen for a cam etc...

Yes I was putting down 350ft lbs to the ground... it's the blower... having 100ft lbs more torque than hp is normal. This is before the N2O and half the mods below.

I have a pretty long mods list at this point. The major things are:

Race tranny with 3.69's and 3000 stall
cam
1.7 roller rocker's
alky injection
custom tuned pcm
42# injectors
SLP header's
N2O wet

and of course all the other supporting mods, colder plugs, 3" exhaust, FWI etc...
The car should be right around the 12.3-12.5 range on the motor and the 11.7-12.0 on a 75-100 shot.
With the car tuned properly I'm hoping for (motor/N20) 320/400+hp and 400+/450+ ft lbs.

I got to drive a GTP with 150k on the clock at my old work, wow those car are awsome.

A GTP is the supercharged version of a Grand Prix. Not bad stock but a very heavy car. 3.8 s/c. Cars that are stock with forced induction tend to respond to mods better than NA cars.

Dude no way we would flame you for that car. I give you more than most other people in the same time range with mustangs, and I think I speak for everyone when I say,that thing is badass.

Grand Touring Package. It is NOT a Grand AM.. lol[:'(]. It is a Grand Prix. 3800lb fwd 250 crank hp stock (260 on the new ones). It comes stock with a Eaton roots type m90 on it. Yes I did. That is one of my good friends. He's never beaten me at the track although I've only beaten him once on the street. Much more traction at the track... my only advatage over that car is I'm putting more torque on the ground.... to be to use it, I have to have good traction. The street rarely provides that. if you watch the vid again, you'll notice a little w that comes on on my clock below the time. The announcer also says left lane wins if you listen closely.

He actually did cross the line before I did. BUT... if you really look at the video... watch the tree. It was bracket racing. I dialed in faster than him so he was to leave first. On top of him leaving first... as you mentioned, he red lighted, so he left that much earlier. Had we left at the same time... the outcome would have obviously been different. It's all good tho... you win some you lose some. The difference between my car now and then is night and day.

I think it was 13.58 actually, not sure... either way... not impressive for even a stock LS1. I don't remember the temperature... but my car never really got down into the low 13.'s until the sun dropped and got cold outside.

We have a kid here with one and last year he (on the 1/8th now) was running 9.0's and I was runnin 8.7's (bone stock), he was pullied, CAI, exh, etc, the temp dropped dramatically by 10pm and he was runnin 8.5's right along side of me. Those cars ROCK when it's cold outside. I know he was planning a cam set up for the winter project. I'm interested to see how it does this year. I'm cammed up too so he better have really done some stuff!!! LOL

lol! The cold gets rid of knock retard which is the main problem with these cars. Depending on what cam he got... if he already got down to an 8.5 in the 8th...he'll probably get down to a mid 12. 1/4 cammed.

very different side os the spectrum. I can tell you that factory FI cars take to mods very well. 8.5:1 compression ratio motor's are great to start modding on!

dude.. you have no clue how bad I want this to happen... my wife is terrified of my car and wont get on it at all. I keep trying to get her to take it down the track but she wont. You're lucky. Seeing a chick in a sports car is sexy... even if it's your wife/girlfriend. Definite turn on.

That car has to weigh more than mine does!!! (3800) Getting it moving like that had to of been slightly difficult. Good job on the car man! I wouldn't sell it either!

What tires are you running, slicks or drag radials?

Unless you are running all out slicks I would say that 12.3 in a 320 WHP car is being a bit optimistic.

In any case, nice car. My friend has a GTP and I was very suprised how quick it was stock.

Don't want to flame ya but the GTP's can put down some mad torque and remember, they are FWD. I have seen a few with some good bolt-ons and a pulley run mid to high 12's on drag radials and/or DOT slicks

Ummmm FWD cars are far inferior to RWD or AWD cars for traction. The instant you acclerate all of the wieght is thrown to the rear tires.

This is why the race from a roll thing is so big in the import circles.

All im asking is he planning on those times with slicks or d/rs. Regardless of the torque numbers i have a hard time seeing a 12.3 in a 320 WHP car. Remeber it is also heavyer than a camaro/mustang.

In any case, like I said im not flaming him, just asking what he is planning on running for tires w/ those times.

I will run Mickey wrinkle walls at the track. As far as RWD being far more superior.... I saw a post here about how it's SO hard to get a stock GT into the 2.0 or below 60.'s. On Kuhmo 716's (bottom of the line) I regular the 1.9's and have a pulled a 1.8 on them on completely stock suspension and tranny(2.93's). torque is a huge factor. Getting this car into the mid 13.'s on 320 is the norm. I can show you a dozen! keep in mind that 320hp ='s 410 in torque. And that's just on the motor.

actually 2V stangs have only just begun to crack 300. more and more everyday, and the record for a 2v is 368. and "six shooter" is a nickname given to my car by a member of dragva. it has nothing to do with the motor. and seeing as i only have .8 litres of displacement on you, AND you have boost, that should be all you need. if it takes your 3.8 2 power adders to outdo a mildly built small block V8 of just 4.6 litres, well...enough said. :D

when i return, the flame wars between mustangs and GTP's will rage all summer. ;) should be a great year.

I dont wanna up and throw the bs flag, but i thought the impala SS had 260hp, and weighs a shade over 4k. Besides, Ive never heard of anything runnin 12s as a grocery getter. Not callin u out, but please, for the sake of my sanity, tell me youve modded it somehow to get those numbers to fit.

^^^ the car has a LT1 or LS1 in it. Why's it so hard to believe that it runs 12.'s? NOt stock of course.... but who here is stock? There are many many "grocery getter's"running quite a bit faster than mid 12.'s (I jungle my key's again), it's not even uncommon anymore.
