Rogers, your plate number ****** can be looked up by a member of the police force or motor vehicles. It will show the owners name. Will it say Mr. Rogers?

If you think I don't have what I say I have, you can look up my plate number: 363RWHP.  You will find my name Janine on the registration....

No doubt!

Mr Rogers is my screen name given to me by a few friends. My registration reads my real name.

Thats cool but Janine gets your f-body since she doesn't have a car.

That is okay, Rogers, I will suffice with out the fine TA.

The 2009 ZR1 is supurb isn't it.  $100,000, plus tax. 620 BHP. What is that in RWHP, about 510? Gosh, Rogers, that dang college degree of yours has to be putting out real well for you if your talking ZR1 when you already have an awesome Z06?

Don't take me wrong, I am not being sarcastic. If you have it that way, then pull it off.  You'd be the showboat of the town. Nothing wrong with that....

Big time Status symbol.

I'll give you an example.

I bought a foreclosed home at a public auction in May. The house sold for $150,000. I made about 3 payments on while I waited for a buyer. The home appraised for $346,000. The buyer made a counter offer for $330,000. Deal $330,000 - 150,000 I owe on the titlle = $180,000 walk away money for. I pay my Z06 off. $180,000 now becomes $105,000. I buy a Tahoe cash. $105,000 becomes $57,000.

When the ZR1 comes out, I will remove all the modifications from my Z06 it and revert it back to stock. I will trade it in. Lets say it will be worth $55,000 in 2009 or when ever  the ZR1 hits the streets. I put $55,000 down due to trade in and purchase the ZR1. I still have enough cash in the bank to finance another foreclosed home,  and make payments until it sells. Then i'll pay the ZR1 off and trade it in for something really nice...Perhaps if your up to it...maybe that stang of yours is willing to get spanked buy another Porsche Carerra GT...Mines.

I think your Z06 can match T-Bone's Carrera GT. No one has beaten him yet.

I heard of people flipping real estate around for quick profit. The problem with that is you don't know anything about back taxes owed or pending law suits. In NY, the buyer has to beware. The abstract comes with all it's  problems.

I though about getting into coops (a coop is an apt that you purchase the right to live in. Shares in a corporation so to speak) put 10k into it and sell it for an easy 15k profit. The closer to the city, the faster they will sell. There are very few places to live close within 10 miles from NYC. Rents for a 1 bdr apt are $1800 to 2400 monthly -- if you can find it. A coop cost $140,000 stripped.
My friend once rented out her basement. She put an ad in the NY Times and offered open house at 7pm. 44 couples showed up. Each filled out an application. The rent was stated at $2000 mo.  All of them filled out the app.  One couple printed out that they would pay 2250 mo if they were chosen and another offered one year in advance in CASH.
It is that bad.

So I am considering the Coop market.  I see it is working for you and Lee so I might as well get into it myself.

If you can get a visual on the location, foreclosed properties are the way to go. They are the equivalent to repossessed cars...nothing wrong with them just some people living above their means.

T-Bone is the street racing champion of South Hampton Long Island, NY. His Carrera GT is undefeated to this day. He beat the best of us including my amazing GT with ease after I tached out at 154mph.  A rematch never took place and never will.

The Carrera has a little on the Z06. Still, very close. A true top end race to 190mph would be interesting to watch.

Thanks for the vid.

An article I just read say the 2008 Carrera GT gets to 124 in 9.9 seconds.  That seems fairly quick, no?

janine, you just confuse the ruddy **** outta me now. so fi my v6 beats ya....you must REALLY suck as a driver

oh, and i have no reason to hide behind the screen.

heres my sexy self-

I drive like a woman -- but VERY spirited....

You live near Albany.... What tracks are up that way?

Oh, you look good in your car. V6?

Lebanon valley- 1/4 mile

and please tell me you did not just jsut call a 1966 chevelle SS a V6. its 4 cubes short of being 2x as big as my msutang V6.(for those of you that cant do math, its a 460 cube big block)

Forgive me, I don't know much old Chevys.

Is not a 460 a Ford BB?

The Chevelle SS came with 396's right?  Or was that just in 1969?

Those big heavy old school solid lifter 6.5L engines with 4 bolt mains, 2.19 intake valves/1.88 Exhaust, a bore and stroke at 4.094 in by 3.76, Mallory dual point distributors, and big Yellow Accel Super Coils would have little chance against the fabulous small engine technology of today.

Really which is better a computerized GT induction set up with 42lb injects 90mm MAF or a Weiland or Elderbrock Tunnel ram with 2 Holley 850 double pumpers with mechanical secondaries and oversized jets?

For it's time, only the 427 matched it.

Which 427 would you rather have: chevy or Ford? Good question.

its a chevy 454, overbored to 460. dual 4 barrels, ported/polished 427 Rat heads, mild cam, solid lifters, longtubes, all forged internals, domed 11:1 pistons, etc.

Chevelle came in SS form from 1964-1973. 1964 had only smallblacks, a 327 being the alrgest. 1965 saw the introduction of the 396, with only 201 built. 1966 was first year of widespread production, with 3 396's- 325hp, 350hp, and 375hp. continued to 1969, when COPO introduced the L72 427 into the lineup. 1970 saw the LS5 and LS6(which ours is based on) 454ci engines, top dog LS6 pushing 450hp and 500tq. the 396's were bored to 402's, but rated the same. 71 nkilled off the LS6, 72 killed all but 1 402, and 73 left only 1 402 and the LS5.

What about short term capitol gains tax? If your income tax rate is 33%, at $180k short term capitol gains tax would be $59,400.

You are correct. However my tax contributions are blancend out because I make several intrest only payments in to my investment(s). All of them are not short term. My payments including the one I make on my own personal home are for the most part tax deductable. Which means by the time I actually sell the investment the IRS will owe me more than I owe them.

Probably a good idea considering any of your 'friends' that would look up his plate and give you the information is risking his/her job.

Don't worry I would have ZERO issues with reporting it, I am already obligated to be an MR for the state on about everything else.

Of course it does vary state to state...I believe in GA it's potential of 15 years and 15K fine...

Ummmm, I seem to recall a similar race between Vettes on an airstrip not too long ago. The number 204mph seems to ring a bell
