Yeah, with extraordinary power/TQ to weight numbers.

My Mustang once received a sound trouncing by a highly modified STI. He got off line like nothing I've ever seen before.

Party over.

Was it built? If so, how much abuse did it take before it finally quit on you?

we put my previous bottom end together in 1995.  ive put about 1300 runs and at least 25,000 street miles on it...regularly hitting 8000rpm in the burnout box.

i was using the stock crank and rods, and the cheapest bearings that i could find, as when the motor went together when i was 16, i couldnt afford "good stuff".  the it spun the bearing on number 5, locked up, and broke the rod bolts...no block damage, but it ruined the crank.  i have a new crank and rods, but unfortunately the rods are the wrong length...

stanggang, ive never pulled a perfect light, but i used to have a set of slips where i pulled 501s 4 elimination rounds in a row...and i pulled a 499 inthe finals against a 17 second s10...he had a 5+ second head start...

You got your $$$ worth out of it. I've heard of stock engines putting up with all kinds of abuse and still run well and conversely, I've seen well built engines fail on dyno.... Take a look at NASCAR. They use the best parts and engines fail -- Dale jr's in particular.... But that is another story.

1300 runs before bearing damage.  Now that is a feat in itself. When the bearing turned on the crank journal it probably left 1/8" deep grooves on the bearing journals. Can't do anything about that.

Put the rods on Ebay.

It is difficult to pull a perfect light with a stick. Reaction time is very critical in elimination rounds. If you get over zealous you cross the stagging beam too soon and redlight. If you laid back on the tree, you give up your holeshot. How can you dial in a time and just hit it on the head? If you beat out your time, your out.  So trying to put it right on the money is playing with death. It is a fun game when nothing is on the line....

I assume the 17 second s10 you ran against was a bone stock an probably an automatic?  Stock autos tend to run more consistant on the dial as opposed to modified cars which are more tempermental.

I don't care what she looks like!

sitting back and looking at this thread she could be posh beckham for all I care... it still doesn't negate the fact she would stab you in the stomach over a parking spot and then 2 minutes late come back and be like "ohh ohh I'm sorry! I'm so sorry... he let me help you get your lower intestine back in your stomach... I'm so sorry, can you walk?"

Instead of all of that you could have just said she is a woman

Ahh ha ha... did she post up pics of herself again?  I remember when she had to post her modeling pics and then her car with a variety of notes written on it to prove it was hers.  Then again when she got the GT500

i visited this thread yesterday, about 6PM, and i came back to 4 more pages of how this girls car is the best thing since sliced bread. I agree about the post whore thing. This is unreal. It started as a guy talking about his "hopefull' run with a viper, and now it is all janine. Get off your freaking horse. Go make your own thread, just self title it. I do have to admit, i do find good humor in this thread, it would just be easier if it was pinned, and titled Janine, or Best mustang ever. In the beginning you said that Mr rogers, just talked about how good his car was, funny you have talked about yours for 15 pages now. Oh ya, and i do like the bareback comment, +1 too that!!!!  And by the way. Mr Rogers, your car is sweet. I am an all out car guy, (although i do enjoy Mustangs) I can enjoy any car with power and grace such as yours. Thank you for sharing.

There are so many haters here.STOP HATING,
Janine you are hot and have a sweet ride,it obviously takes a good looking person with high self esteem to post pics on here.
take it from one of the real ones (me) on here who have confidence to actualy post a pic of themselves on here.
That is why most of the people on here dont post pics of themselves, its all about hiding behind a screen and talkin b.s. that the majority of you would never have the balls to say face to face.
Oh and i think vettes are sweet 2.

Thank you. Honestly, I felt a great deal of anxiety about the picture thing, but I managed to do it and considering how it ultimately turned out, am glad I did.

As far as haters, I think in general these guys like to get a few laughs off people.  While some may actually feel good about themselves  putting people down, I think most of it is out of peer pressure -- to make themselves look good. After all, people are what they think others think about them....  I actually understand this but it is a cognitive distortion of reality.

Anyway, Mr. Rogers Vette is absolutely awesome and I think it outshines practically all cars I've seen on this forum -- at least I certainly think so.  My hats off to him.

There are a few women members, but this is a guy forum and some guys can be very harsh, crude and vulgar on us. It takes a strong women to persist.
I come and go on this forum. When I am here, you will know it.
