Yep. Just another girlie man afraid of that little 'ol stick!

The truth is, my Wife said "no auto, no mustang".  Faced with having to continue to drive a Pontiac vs. a Mustang, I think EVERYONE can agree I made the right choice!

My choice was simple, cant roll blunts in the manual while driving. and getting road head is alot easier too.

I drive a stick because I feel like a badass when i drive it.  Plus i can rev my engine at pedestrians for fun.

+ 1 on the 5-speed manual. You simply 'steer' automatics but you 'DRIVE' a manual

Popularity of Mustangs always goes in this order:

1) V6 Auto
2) V8 Auto
3) V8 Manual
4) V6 Manual

Actually, this list is wrong. Manual GTs have outsold Auto GTs 2 to 1 on average for the last 20 years at least. Just do a quick search of production numbers.

As for this girly debate, both autos and manuals have their pros and cons. Autos shift faster and generally handle more power, but they are heavy and more expensive to fix. Manuals are lighter, cheaper and easier to work on, but they are less consistent and handle less power. As for me, I bought a manual because I simply have more fun driving it. To each his own.

My GT is auto. I love it. Would have liked to get the stick, but who needs it? Besides the fact that I have two arthritic knees and have already had surgery on the left......I love the auto......

Vista Blue GT LOVE IT! It's bone stock -- except for the shorty 'tenna and the polished billet plug in the power outlet. Keeping it that way too.

it honestly is a personall opinon despite auto's telling standards their nuts and vice versa. What ever people like they should get and not fall into the trop of "this is better than that because i think it is and my opinion rules the world" (i'm not saying all Standard or Auto owners are like this but tehre are a few who are) I myself like Auto a lot more than a Standard

Fast is relative. There really is no such thing as a "fast" production car. Fast starts at 8 second quarters.
I think which is "faster" is obvious. Has any showroom stock A5 broken 13.50?
My M5 has run 13.49 with me driving and 13.35 with a 160 lb lighter driver.
Thats on a day with a 1285' Density Altitude. A5s in general are at least 0.3 slower.
At least unless the M5 has a "Driver Problem".

As to preference? If M5's are not preferred why does Ford keep
having to offer "Free" A5's to thin out the numbers of A5's in inventory.

If you prefer the auto thats fine. If I bracket raced the Mustang or planned Mega-Power I certainly would have an Auto.
All off my race cars certainly have. One less thing to worry about when a car goes 0-75 mph in 1.1 seconds.

But from a "fun" stand point in a slow car the M5 is preferred in my opinion.
