Started ripping out the interior after some inspiration from others on here (jaimeNerikas66stang). Attached is a link to some pics. Let me know what yall think and provide some input and useful hints. The floor boards will be replaced. The cowl being rusted out caused a lot of water damage to the floors.
You're gonna need the extra large roll of duct tape for the floors. But seriously, I have never done floors but I have seen a lot of pictures here of floors worse than yours (they were almost non-existent) which looked great when they were done. Good luck. Engine looks nice. Curious...how's the body, quarters and such.
I dont fear the floor boards. I really thought they might be worse than they are, but it shouldnt be too hard to replace them. Not sure on the rest of the car. I do know that a license plate was used for a patch for my rear passenger fender. I'll take a pic of that to show off. The engine only has about 500 miles on a fresh rebuild. However, it wont be going back in. I got an 84 351W that I'll be dropping in.
ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO APPROACH THE CAR NEXT WOULD HELP!!! Im thinkin that I should keep tearing everything out and get the body sandblasted. Any ideas?

hahaa, awesome, i love to be inspriation for someone, haha, anyway looks good man, i would not have the car sandblasted, i have heard such horror stories with that,..the only way i would have this done is if the car was 199% torn down...i have a friend who is still finding sand and media after 3 years....
i would say if you needed any help just email me, but i dont really know what i am doing myself, this is a learn as i go project for me, so good luck and i will watch your progress
Sandblasting is glorious and awful at the same time, as jamie said, you will find sand and media blast forever. The stuff is magical and resists being vacuumed I swear. Any place that you would media blast you could probably get by using a stiff wire wheel + rust converter. You should probably decide on what you're going to keep/reuse and how far you're going to take this restoration(restomod or original restoration, etc), or if you already have let us know so we can give you more directed advice.

the floors aren't terrible. if i can do it as a complete newbie... anyone can (granted they aren't all that pretty...)
I would say keep disassemling to see exactly where all the rust is. The plan I came up with is
floors first
then work from the front to the back on the rest of the body

I could not care less about staying original on this particular car. Should I start taking the fenders off and ripping the wiring out. I would like to have a firm foundation of a body and then start building the rest of the car. I dont want to piece everything a little bit at a time.

how does a floor get that messed up anyways?
I would say that is b/c my cowl is in bad shape. If the car was left out in the rain, I would have a puddle in the passenger floorboard.

the area where your ac/heat takes in fresh air(the cowl) rust from leaves dirt etc. sitting in there which then allows the water leak on to the front floor boards and since theres carpet its stays wet and starts the process there 40 later = no floors in some mustangs falcons, cougars etc etc.

A little more detail than my explanation.
