Well, after 4 days I went to start the mustang and nothing. The battery was soooo dead that the door wouldn't even unlock with the FOB. Well, after remembering what I read on here about unlocking the auto shifter, we were able to get it in neutral and push it out of the garage. That thing was dead as dead gets! After, 10 minutes of charging from the truck, we got it jump started. Went straight to town and got a new battery. BUT, the problem now is the drivers window. When I shut the door, the window won't go up into the "sealed" position. And when I put it all the way down, it makes this loud thump sound like it is falling off the rails! Then it is a pain to get it back up, won't work on the one touch up / down. So, I went to the dealer and they will "look at it" in the morning and see what they can do to fix it, but chances are they don't have the parts. Is it possible that the window motor is toast and that's what maybe drained the battery???
Anyone else had this issue?

Well, ok then. I found the on-line manual (don't have a hardcopy) so followed the window reset instructions. Ok, now i feel like a blonde! Yes, the window seems to work now, but is very slow at going up & down, but is restored to the onestepauto features, and seals when the door is closed. It is currently 22 degree right now, maybe that is the reason for the slow operation? Thanks guys! I will check to see if it starts ok in the morning, and if so will cancel my trip to the dealer.
99% chanceyou dont have a bad battery. Bad batteries dont just drain dead like that usually. Plus just about any battery should last longer than what the S197's have been out. I would guess that there is a relay that is sticking when you turn off your car that causes the drain. Or its possible its a breaker. Those are near the fuses. The breakers will go bad and start switching off and on draining the battery hella quick. Usually you can feel the back of the breakers and with a charged battery if you haveone going bad it will be hot to the touch. If there is still a problem with the windows I would look tward the breakers first because it happens alot, I see probably one a week.Usally there is 2 breakers, one for pwr windows, the other pwr accessories. The car needs to go to the dealer or a mechanic because really the possibilities are endless, but youprobably dont have a major issue at all, cheap fix too hopefully! Good Luck!

I agree when I read the post about changing the battery that seems unlikely the battery would go bad. The battery should last a long time probably 5-7 years. As for what the problem is I seem to read a lot of threads about folks going out to their Mustang's and the battery is dead. I'm thinking as a few other posters have stated is you have a slow drain that needs to be addressed by the dealership. Best of luck and let us know what happens.
my battery went dead less than one year after i purchased my stang. i left it unused for about a week and thought that i must have left the cabin light on until i started reading posts about this issue with other stangs. i'm confident that its faulty wiring and i wont hesitate to blame the shaker system. that stereo has much more responsibilty than i originally thought. my whole computer went haywire after i installed an ipod adapter. the adapter was recalled but it still shows how much of an effect the radio components have on our cars. now i want a new stereo with dvd playback[8D].

Yes sir you are correct too....The stereo systems, not only in our cars but most late model vehicles, are wired through the Body Control Module(BCM). This controls airbag, ABS, TCS, power windows, power locks, key FOB functions besides the radio.
