If this is true, it would be the SRT-4 version of the neon with a 2.5L, Turbocharged, 215 horsepower, 245 lb-ft of torque at only 2800 pounds in weight.
The Dodge SRT-4 is the second fastest current-production Chrysler vehicle, and one of the fastest Dodges ever made. Even with that mind-blowing acceleration - seen in recent Dodge history only by the Viper, Spirit R/T [Road and Track], and Daytona R/T.
Having a friend with one and getting a ride, I can verify it is ball busting fast.
The GT Mustang is 300HP with 320 lb-ft of torque but weighs in at almost 3400 pounds.
So, is it possible....Anything is possible given the right conditions.

yea a friend of mind has a SRT-4 and it pretty quick... i'll try to post a vid of him racing a couple of MUSTANGS, and some ricers.....The fastest srt-4 i ever seen run was like mid 12's i think her name was SRT_GURL... i think.....
Yeah, that was me. And apparently your not familiar with the turbo neon....it's fast, and it will take out a stock 00GT. He got me on top end...mind you there was salt on the roads and i wasn't giving it my all. Funny thing is, he would get me 0 - 60 too. Many people on this site will tell you that they won't...but their arrogant...the car does 0 - 60 in 5.2 (in motor trend) so a 5.5 is realistic. Motor trend gave my stang a 5.5, realistically it will do a 5.9.
Ya dont have to be arrogant to say an SRT4 wont wax ya, you just gotta be faster, thats all. 0-60 in around 3 or so seconds and mid 11's is usually more than enough to shut up most people who are arrogant like ya say. It doesnt matter if they are in a stock LS1, a Mustang or a Neon. Faster is faster

anyways, srt4's are retarded, its a factory ricer with the body kit and wheels, they have to slap on a turbo in order to keep up w/ factory NA stangs, you cant compare turbo'd cars to NA. thats like us saying wow man the 03 cobra smoked that 95 neon!! because after all, its still a neon....a hopped up neon, and the GTO is a hopped up grand prix

You also cant compare 4clys and 6clys to V8
But yea ive only ran one srt in my stang and it was pretty close, so yea given the driver adn the mods it could be a challenge to keep up with one possibly
I only know of one almost stock LS1. Its in the driveway, and it has free mods and a flowmaster that sounds nice but doesnt make it faster. Its an economy car @ 29 mpg highway.

First off, GTO's dont even share the same chassis as grand prix's idiot. They share the holden monaro body/chassis from australia. Grand prixs also dont have LS1'LS2.
And SRT's can be made VERY quick. im sure a stock motored SRT (with just an aftermarket turbo and boost controller) that runs 11.6's is faster than your ride.

also, where did i say anything about a 11.6 second neon being slower than me car? NOWHERE. did i say modified srt 4's are slow?
