I've been reading the forums for a while about suspension but I still don't quite know what is needed for a course/road/carver. I will drag at some point but I want to focus on good handling. I was thinking LCA's, UCA's, springs and shocks for starters. I can spend about a grand this winter. Are coil-overs the way to go? I heard that Toicko D-specs are great (but are quite expensive). This being my first car that I am modding, what do you suggest for a first timer. I don't need to go all out but I don't want anything cheap either

Any help is appreciated.

I definitely recommend starting with the base suspension components...

Springs, Shocks & Struts, CC Plates.

From there working on the rear suspension is a good idea. Lower Control Arms, panhard bar, & upper control arms are all very popular modifications.

We sell the Maximum Motorsports Starter suspension package http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=175 or the Maximum Motorsports rear grip package http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=258

The shocks/struts/springs are important in reducing body roll and controlling the ride, the rear suspension will help deliver the power to the ground and keep the rear end planted....
