im trying to learn as much as i can about these engines so if someone can explain cams to me itd be much appreciated

Cams are basically sticks inside of the engine (or on top, depending on set up) that moves the valves in and out.



By getting cams, you change when the open and close, and by how much.

thanx for the info. how do people improve their cams? and is that a good mod for a 00gt?

lt depends on how you'll use the Mustang. People improve their cams by getting a higher duration/lift cam. lf your car is for the street, don't go higher than 260-265 degrees of duration.
