My dealer has called me a few times and again today about a Shelby GT they have reduced the price on. i'm thinking about pulling the trigger on it but wanted to ask those of you who had Shelby GT's if it is worth it. My GT is actually better equipped, it has the interior upgrade package with the heated seats and the whole 9 yards, plus i added a diablo predator, mufflers and a JLT CAI. your thoughts please

I just did the same thing you thinking about doing. Which also reminds me I need to figure out how to change my name. Anyways, four days ago, friday night, I traded my '06 GT in for a 2008 Shelby GT, Vista blue with silver stripes.

I LOVE IT! I had some stuff done to my GT, similar to yours, but the Shelby is just so awesome! It's even possible your GT is a tad faster than the Shelby, but it just feels so good. After driving the regular GT for almost two years, I can tell you, the Ford handling pack on the SHelby, there's a night and day difference in the feel of the car. Of course you can always do more stuff to it, but it drives so good, and gets looks like crazy. My regular GT, Ruby, always got looks, buy Lilly, the Shelby, gets so many more looks. She looks just incredible, plus it has the Shelby plaque on the dash and is a very limited edition.

Yes, you can spend less money and have a faster car, but it's just awesome and it's Shelby. I'm very satisfied, if you cannot tell. I'm about to add some pictures, if you wait a few, you can see.

Just my opinion, if you have the money and can do it, then do it!!!!!!

Do it ! I just bought one and I think it is so worth it . There are a lot of guys on here that beg to differ . The car is unique in looks and styling . Yes it is not the fastest Mustang on the street ..... but I have stopped at the pharmacy on the way home and come out only to see people taking pics and just want to talk about it !
Even guys with GREAT looking Mustangs still give the Shelby a second look . Even the ones that hate on it !!

i am one of those guys who beg to differ, you could save the money from the shelby and put a SC on the GT and have a way more faster car.  but if u want the shelby name, thats cool.

I'm too excited becasue I just purchased it a week ago. Sorry. Before I could afford it, I said the same exact things. I was always more for the underdog, a GT modded to beat a Shelby. Now that I can afford it, it's totally different. I'm so happy with it. I just say test drive one.

I live in Nashville, and my dealer had 4. A white one and a black one, both 2007's, and two blue ones, 2008's. he pulled it out, handed me the keys, I drove it, fell in love again. Just like I did with the GT in the first place.

I asked where you lived because if you were close I would tell you where you could find some, but you might search google for Flordia Ford, or maybe your town Ford, I did Nashville Ford and it brought up this dealer with the inventory.

Also for me, mustangmac.com has all the Mustangs available at my dealer.

Good luck, and don't shun the Shelby until you drive it, I love it!!!
