During lunch, I dropped by my local Ford dealer, seeing as they had two '08 Shelby GT-C's there. We all know anything "Shelby" is marked up anyway, but I wanted to see just how much the GT-C's were...
$15K over sticker...
LOL! $48 GRAND for what amounts to a mildly warmed-over GT?
Shinola! I feel better about what I am spending on my GT aftermarket items. For way less than that I am supercharged, stall converted, long-tube headed, x-piped, after-backed, lowered, painted, wheeled and tired and blinged!:lol
15k over sticker? Shelby, what a joke. Just buy a base gt and mod to your liking. I'd never buy Shelby. Post above, gt-h, the hertz edition mustang gt available for rental at a few hertz locations.

Yes, the GT-C is a Southern California Only Shelby. Basically, it's a Shelby GT, but Grabber Orange with silver stripes. Limited to 300 production models.

Had the chance to drive a new shelby hertz edition convertible when our region v.p. brought one to our shop(i work at hertz equip). Its a nice car but not worth the money, the only thing it has is a cai(mine is still faster) and a better front end. deffinitely not worth the $$$$.
btw they gave all the v.p.'s brand new convertibles, ya know, the ones the public cant buy
I always liked the Shelby GT's, not the orange/silver though. Just a weird combo. Has anyone seen the Shelby GT convertibles on ebay yet? Blue with silver stripes and a black top. Really nice looking... I'd love a black with silver Shelby GT 'vert.
For now I'll settle for my 06 V6 black w/ silver striped vert and keep the additional $30k. :)

All 2008 Shelby GTs are Vista Blue with Silver stripes(except for the GT-C which is a coupe and G.O. w/Silver stripes only). Have seen several 'Vert Shelby GTs, but they're all automatic(the four that I have seen so far). The 'Verts I've seen are selling in the mid $50K range(about a $10K mark-up). Very dumb money, but they are sweet cars, just a bit too expensive for the sum of it's parts IMO.
