Are you sure? I haven't seen any 2008 Shelby GTs in any color other than V.B.. Vista Blue is the "signature" color of the 2008 Shelby GT.

Obviously, these "newbies" have no idea who Mr. Carroll Shelby is... nor why he is a American Icon.
Let me see here... think about it for a sec... how did Mustangs get to where there are today?
Ford called him to transform the Mustang from a "Secretaries Car" into a Championship Race Car.
Not only did he beat Chevy's Corvettes... he took down Ferrari on a world stage at Le Mans!!!
Having said that, these "rookie sidewalk commandos" do not even understand the concept behind "Limited Edition"
Originally there was supposed to be 300 GT-C(s), but SAI stopped at 217 which makes the car even more rare. Also, these are the only known cars that Mr. Shelby "officially" signed (passenger visor).
The production number for 1965 Shelby GT 350(s) where slightly more than 500 were made... Those cars in #1 condition were selling for over $350,000 a few years back. A #3 car today will cost about $200,000.
Seem's like this was the same trash talk about the the Shelby's on the S-197 forum from the GTer's. Now we have to listen to this Crap again on our side of the tracks. Just because the V-6er's pissed on your Cornflakes don't take it out on us.
for those who dont know, the Shelby GT is also a very...****in badass auto cross car, in stock form it is many racers' vehicle of choice and this years champion of the class the SGT is in was a, you guessed it, stock shelby gt. my SGT is supercharged so next time you see one and think your ****s faster, think again. (unless youre KBd or somethin hehehe, im not an idiot )

Ok her goes... A vehicle is just basic transportation. Gets you from point a to point b. Buy a KIA for that or a used pile hitch hike or git a bus pass to get you to work. (You gotta start somewhere) Anything other than just basic $200 reliable transportation for most of us is vanity, a feeling of inadequicy, fluff, extra, testostorone, a hobby, fun! I have a '07 GT 500 I paid (and will be paying) a little over msrp for it, call me a fool it is certainly more transportation than I need but... It is one Bad ass mother I love it. Makes my _____ alot bigger too!
Here in Atlanta area they go for MSRP or slightly below. got my 08 for 3k less than sticker.
What part of the country do you live in?

During lunch, I dropped by my local Ford dealer, seeing as they had two '08 Shelby GT-C's there. We all know anything "Shelby" is marked up anyway, but I wanted to see just how much the GT-C's were...
$15K over sticker...
LOL! $48 GRAND for what amounts to a mildly warmed-over GT?

I paid $33,000 and some change for mine. That isn't much more than a stock GT and I don't care what anyone says, this car handles better, sounds better, and looks better than a stock GT. PLUS it is a Shelby modified car. Don't see where the issue is. There are enough of these cars out there that if you do what I did and shop around and get the dealers to low-ball each other, it can be bought for a reasonable price. (Also take advantage of all the rebates or 0 % financing).

I purchased a 2007 Black/Silver Shelby for $38K. Is that high compared to other areas? (I live in Michigan) I love the car so far but with the weather here it is stored for the winter and I only have 800mi on it. Looking forward to spring!

I did that down here in Texas(shopped around). The problem is/was they all wanted to "stake their claim" and say, "These are limited production vehicles, and are very hard to come by".
Then when I told them, "I understand what they are, but they are not that hard to come by cause I did an inventory search before I went out and located 5 of them within 30 miles of my house..."
They ranged in sticker from 37K-44K(with 'adjusted dealer' mark-ups). I managed to get one to come down to 35,500, but then once you added in the gas guzzler, I was back up to 36.5K...
I decided that I wanted to modify my car anyway with a turbo, etc. So I chose to go another route.

The dealers around here were the same way until they found that the cars were not selling as well as hoped. By the way, nice looking ride you've got there.

With U.S. auto makers sales being in down ( especially when you consider gas prices and 300 HP plus vehicles not moving)...
The key to playing this game is to leverage the internet for the same car within a 500 mile radius and to also walk into the dealership with a pre-approved loan as well as printouts of cars on the internet prior to negotiating price.
Buyer is then in the drivers seat and the dealership will/should bend over as much as possible before letting someone walk out on a "cash" basis.
The U.S. economy is tanking fast... supply-side macro economics.
For now, one in the hand is worth much more than two in the bush!!!
There's still lots of 2007 Shelbys for sale at dealerships for now.. these are the ones with "sweet spot" pricing.
For 2008, SAI cut production numbers by more than half. Once availability starts to dry up, I'd expect dealers stand on much firmer ground re: ADM markups.
As they say... you have to strike while the iron is hot.
