Default At last...a place with a garage

It's taken a lot of looking but I've finally found a house with a decent sized garage...my condo is sold, the house is bought (not paid for..give me about 30 years or so). I take possesion on January 19th..can't wait.

The house is kinda small (722sqft) but is on a 50'x135' lot fairly close to downtown Saskatoon & has a 22'x26' garage & a car port.

I have to do some work to the basement as soon as I move in (structural repairs, sounds worse than it really it is) but it's going to be great to have somewhere to park my two ponies. Right now I have a small condo with one outdoor parking spot. My vert has been at a friends place under a coverall all summer & is now in storage for the winter.

I think this is a bit of a milestone for me as I only moved to Canada 2.5 years ago whilst getting divorced (best diet plan ever btw[8D]) so for me to be back on the property ladder so quickly & debt free, except the mortgage of course, due to the huge rise in house prices here (bought my condo right before the last boom - it's gone up $60,000 in 6 months) is pretty good going.

Congrates, and on the big boom, my parents bought before it to, have a nice sized house (about 2100 sq.ft. W/ 1000 sqft. deck) all for the low price of $86,000 now worth $250,000 []

Good luck with the house, and I hope you are the true one who enjoys it[8D]

Pic's?

Congrats....you now get to paint walls whatever color you want[8D]rotfl, j/k!!!!!!! After the repairs do you plan on enclosing the car port? A weather free stall foreach pony.

I am soo ready to get a place of my own but I need to leech the parents a little more until I'm out(or close) of college.
My parents house has 2K+(can't remember exact number)sq/ft and 15acres for $260K I think.

Our house is nothing compared to my cousins house though(4hrs from Seattle, right on a lake) which they built. They have like 4500sq/ft, an indoor pool, all the rooms aremaster suites, and they've spent close to 600K and it's appraised at 2mil. The main floors' ceiling is 26ft up. They usually put a 24ft Christmas tree up every year(they have to climb the rafters to do it[])and light up the lake from there side to the opposite shore(about a foot ball field length). The down side is they only have 1acre(all steep terrain), no garage, and a neighbor who basically built his house on the property line.

Thanks guys - I know the house is really small but there is only me, the dog, the two cars & the g/f when she sleeps over at my place rather than hers. It's kinda funny to know that Sleepers deck is bigger than my house.

The housing boom will hit again in the springtime so buying in the winter will mean I gain equity really quickly. It's just nice to find a big lot in that part of the city & to be getting rid of my noisy upstairs neighbour who I swear is a clog dancer or something, noisy f^cker[:@].

a few pics from the mls website.

I've got a lot of catching up to do - divorces are not good for the bank balance, either don't do it or get a pre-nup[X(]- but I'm getting there. The cost of moving country, not being able to work for 6 months pending a work permit & the cars are now paid for in full with a decent downpayment & some cash for reno's left in the pot.

Nice looking house. Looks like one I use to live in when I was living on the coast (I think the house was something like 400 sqft with 4 people in it[&:][&:])

It is a bit weird that in country this size any house under 1000sq ft even exist at all[&:]. 400sq ft - wow I can't even imagine how cramped that would be for 4 people....what did you do..take turns to stand inside?? j/k.

We only slept in the house, my whole family would either be in the forest going to nature "walks" or hanging out at a mall or friends place

I see, it was a holiday home. That's a whole other thing when you only need something to sleep in.
