I want to ask a global question re my 2006 Mustang GT Convertible - I have had 2 tops collapse (bracket issues) and replaced by Ford. Apparently poorly designed frame/brackets from what the installer (not Ford) told me ... perhaps too thin/weak for the load).
I want to see if anyone else has experienced issues with their tops for that year (or even any year from2005-2008). Please give any feedback that you can ... this has developed into a huge problem. The last time it collapsed my 2 small grandkids were in the back seat, and now will not even ride in the car
My GT has been in the shop for the top(s) issue for 27 out of past 40 days. HELP!!
Holy cow..no, I have not had any issues with my top...to-date...however, I have not had the top down for more than...maybe...less than 100 times...since I got it...and less now that I am in Wetshington State...

Sorry to hear it. I just had my top replace for the second time (2005). First one took Ford almost two months during the middle of last summer. Both appear to be design flaws, both covered by TSBs. Frankly I woundn't be surprised if there's a third time.
Unfortunately the lemon law in my state only applies within the first 18,000 miles and year. Some state's laws are more generous and it's worth checking out.
