I am wondering at what speed you get the best MPG? Long distance cruising.
(I know these cars aren't bought for mileage per say... just asking a question)
The slower the better. Just set the cruise controlat the speed limit and you should see surprising results. I get about 27mpg on an open highway at 65mph.

Yeah, a friend of mine tried to tell me the same. Drive 65. I have to say. I did a trip to Boone NC a few months back and averaged 23 mpg with the cruise set a 80, nearlly 80 percent of the way. I as just seeing what you guys were getting... not what is the best for optimum efficiency... but thank you anyways... lol
yeah but who drives a mustang 55-65 miles per hour[:'(] lol...
I do for the most part on really long trips...less rock chips and less gas consumption...this isnt to say that dont punch it to 100+mph when it's necessary
Just use your cruise control for the best results. I was doing a cross country drive from New York to Arizona and 90% of the time I was on cruise control. In New York was getting about 270 miles to the tank. By the time I got to Arizona I was getting 400.

the closer you are to 55 the better mileage you will get. For every mph over 55, I believe fueleconomy.gov says you lose 1/2 percent on mileage. (or is it 1.5?)

I see a roll-off over 65 MPH. At 65 and below I can get 25-26, maybe a tad better. But at 75-80 I was still averaging about 23. And the cruise control WILL improve your mileage.
BTW, I DID buy the Stang for it's fuel mileage. It does better than my SUV which is why the Stang is mainly mylong distance ride.
