Had a fun run against a WS6 on the highway tonight. Found out my car does at least 145 but that's where we ran out of road.  He was faster but not by much.  Gives me new faith in the ole GT.  He had done a cat back exhaust and intake.  My 03 is totally stock.  Not bad for having like 60 less hp. lol

Intake? If it were a true WS6 it would have ram air which came stock.

Well see, this is the problem. All of you beloved Mustang ppl race "WS6's" that more than likely are 6 bangers with a flowmaster on them and then you go and brag about how you spanked their ass or something. At least you got GM right, it seems most others think that Chevy and Pontiac are rivals or something?

Perhaps so, but I think most people actually do know the difference in WS-6 and regular Firebirds.

I would hope so, but you don't know how many times I've heard this, "I bet my Mustang if faster than your camaro," I then shake my head and turn in complete embarrasement for all domestics.

Me either. Personally, I think the Camaros, up until the new body styles, look like crap.

You have a point, the 68-69 camaros =

My senior year in High School after homecoming a rich girl I went to school with, had a 68 red w/ black racing stripe camaro that she decideds to show off by peeling out after a football game. Runs it right into a tree, perhaps one of the funniest and sadest things I've ever seen. Her dad then buys her a 6 cylinder mustang....

I bet my Mustang is faster than your Camaro. I bet it's in better shape, lower miles & will last longer also.

What year was this TA? Doesn't 145 sound alittle irresponsible to you???

it doesn't to me

WS6=SS They both have a ram air intake. Both dyno within the same of the lesser Z28/regular TA model LS1 V8s. Both are bad ass to the bone. The new TAs have the best look, as well as the 98-02 Camaros.

Vintage still owns, 67-69 SS or COPO/Yenko is the way to go, if you can find one

If it was a new WS6, then it has more than 60 hp over you. (I know GM claims 325, but it's somewhere closer to 340 hp at the crank) Good job keeping with him. Get some power adders, cams, intake, exhaust, etc you'll be right up there with him...or in front of him.

F bodies are notorious for door sag, i think they dont look as good, and also i hear have other quality issues.  that's another reason i choose stang over em...but go ahead and think its cause my brother has one.

It's a POS, but its fast. If I wanted something where I could hear the radio crystal clear and didn't want to feel all the bumps in the road, then I would have just kept driving my Maxima. I couldn't break traction at 55 in the Maxima though.

I don't think it's possible for a stock GT to keep up with even a stock LS1 F-body/Corvette, ESPECIALLY on top-end... maybe that's just me...
