Jugador, from all the research I've done with 3rd gens, 80k miles was when sensors, relays, ECM's all started to fail. Around 80k also, water pumps, alternators, heater core...etc are all known problems with F-bodies.
With 4th gens, opti-spark are a major problem, a MAJOR PITA, and expensive as hell to fix.
I've heard a lot of talk about the opti-spark on WS6 forum. I have heard they go out around 100k-140k but as long as you keep most any fluids and such from getting on them they'll last a while. I don't know the price of a repair but I'm sure its pretty expensive from what I've heard. As far as sensors and such failing at 80k, this is the first I've heard of it.
HEY! new idea! formula firebird...econo TA basically right?
No the Formula Firebird is basically just like a Z28, only with the V6 appearance. It'll say Formula on it too. It's really a 350. but it doesn't have the weight of the TA appearance package.

Big problem known with GM cars. 80k is the point when stuff starts crapping out...

Oh, well as far back as I can remember, my dad bought a 93 TA in 93 and got rid of it around 96 after he finished his mid-life crisis. Had no problems with it. Bought the 1995 Bonneville in 95 and had no problems until it hit the 260k mark.
