It means manual 6 speed. I think they come with a 3.42 rear end so they come stock geared really low with 4 gears of drive then the mighty two overdrives. I tack 2100 at 100mph in 6 gear.

s**t!  but i like the looks of the pre 98 maros over the ta's and pre 98 is most likely all i could afford somewhat reasonably

PS they came with m6's too...and trust me, i would never get auto if i had a choice not to

Yea, the camaro and TA are basically the same car. On my ws6, z28 forum though, most ppl say that stock for stock the TA was faster. Don't know why though. BTW the 6 speed is a blast but very hard to hook up.95LT137927.6720023148

They actually put out near 350hp at the crank.

im poor dude lol...all i have is like 2k saved and i doubt my dad would contribute much more than 3-4k if he even would

and ive found that even pre 98 TA's cost a lot...its looking like a Z28 may be possible though cause they're more common i guess

Jugador, one thing to do if you have a limited budget, speaking from experience...

Never buy a GM with over 80,000 miles, regardless of how well it's been maintained. This is for Camaro's and TA's only.

jug, buy what you want, irregardless of anyone else.  you will know when your in the right car,  you will feel it.. the one thing i do hate about f-bodys is the long nose piece.  in my dads ws6, the nose hits everything in new orleans.. my lowered mustang sits lower but doesnt scrape as much

Scraping is a problem. My car sits too low to get under it and now with the exhaust c/o I'm scraping all the time, but it's worth it. I don't know about all GM's but my dad bought a company car in '95, it was a 95 Bonneville. He was driving about 250-300 miles a day and after 260,000 miles, I blew the head gasket. Of course it happened while I was driving the car.

We bought my car for a toy for me since I was tired of the family sedan. We bought it for 5700 with 95k on it. It came loaded with all options short of WS6 b/c it wasn't available at the time I don't think. So far the only problems have been interior crap and those damn headlight gears scraping for about 5 secs then it goes away. My car will still bark the tires 1-3 with now over 100k. If all else fails with it, I'll go back to the family sedan

Oh yea, tires are a big problem. My back ones are always bald....and I put in a new radiator.95LT137927.6926851852

Well the only thing that's went wrong so far is the radiator, that was after the 100k mark. The interior problem was a passenger side window motor and then the driver side headlight is messed up. It still goes up and down and functions is just grinds for about 5 secs, very common in f-bodies. Nothing major so far, knock on wood. My Maxima had the tranny replaced after 40k, under warranty of course, but still, its foreign, wtf? I can only say good things about the TA so far though. I've driven several pre 4.6liter mustangs, and none compare so far. Cept for the one with the 347 and 100 shot

Don't get an LT1. Just don't. with the mods you put onto an LT1 you can get it up to the same hp/tq rating the LS1 came with from the factory.

LS1>>>>>>LT1

LS1 price>>>>>LT1 price.  im like 15...not only is an LS1 wayyyyy too expensive, but i would die within a week of owning one.

and i bet it would be hard enough to afford insurance for an LT1, let alone an ls1...if i even could get insured...
