When are they going to do a recall for the gas tanks? - 3/9/2005 11:13:50 PM    lostsoul Posts: 1368 Joined: 2/16/2005 From: bay area Status: offline I was in the station for the first time filling my baby up($34bucks!!wtf) and while I was doing it the damn thing kept shutting off on me. over and over like the tank was full.. mean while a POS beat up honda with 5 inch tip filled up and was reving his crap at me.. and I was still pumping gas!!.. He beat me at the pump.. and waited for me..for a little.. I guess he wanted to see what my tail lights looked like at night. anyway, he left and.. I felt empty inside..... help Post #: 1

I found it in a small out fo the way town near the Hearst Castle. For me, I hold the the nozzle at about 4:30/5:00 position and fill ups happen OK. What happens with the new gas tank? The old tank, to much vapor builds up. Thus causing the pump to shut of early. TSB's are handy, gives you ammo when assualting the dealership service department. The warranty runs out on March 16th. I sold the car and I'm delivering it tomorrow with all the TSB's that I got from my father-in-law for the buyer. So basically, she'll walk into a dealership on Monday with the TSB's with 2 days and 1500 miles left on the warranty. (in reply to Scottsat) Post #: 17

I noticed that if there is not a "vapor recover fitting" on the nozzle my tank has no problem filling up. But, am I gonna drive around looking for such a pump???heck no!' Ford fix it please!!
