Maybe I should wait for the blower to just make it that much more interesting

I've driven the 300 SRT, it's a freakin' monster. I know what our cars drive like, mine's a 5 sp, and the SRT amazed me it was so damn fast, and on 20's too. They will kill you EVERY time, from a dig or roll. They bad!

i have a 06 mustang gt stock, (besides axleback) and my cousin has a charger srt-8 with a k&n cai, airaid throttle body, and catback. WE havent raced but i have driven his and he has driven mine! he says mines feel faster because it feels lighter. i drove his and man does it feel like a TANK (although it is pretty quick)

PS: in my opinion you would be side by side or you will take him!

from all the mods i see posted in your sig u definetly got him(unless he is S/C or something) the only one that will give you competition will be the JEEP SRT-8 (AWD really helps)

Off topic but I just ran a srt 8 jeep from a 60mph roll and took him pretty good. and your making more power then me all motor.  I have 4.10's too, so that helped. and we did it a few times. So it wasnt just a one time thing. I also gave him the jump a couple times, just to make sure. I stoped when I redlined 4th.

The jeep shines from 0-80 and they are damn quick...they are one of the few cars on the road with worse aerodynamics than us lol...so highway is not their thing...they are very quick though

"SRT amazed me it was so damn fast"

LOL. Either you have a v6, or you were not in the right state of mind.

They are sharp looking sedans and are very fast. If I wanted a 4-door car that looked good and had big balls the Charger SRT8 fills the ticket.

Of course, they aren't Mustangs...... not even close because those people who really like to modify their cars drive Mustangs or older f-bodies these days.

On the way home after having my LTs and o/r H installed I pulled up to a black Charger SRT8 on the highway. We were next to eachother going back and forth with putting the pedal to the metal (lol) to our cars but we never left at the same time.  The first time he gunned it and beat me and then the second time I gunned it and beat him.  Finally, on the third try it looked as if we both took off at the same time and I was pulling on him a lot.  We were probably starting off at around 60 - 70MPH.  I eventually got off at the next exit and we both waved at eachother.

I think with the mods I have now, I would poop on it.  BUT - during the instance above, I had everything in my sig except UDPs and 373s.  I guess the three beeps would have been better but not too many people do that around here - plus, it was more of a fun race rather than a competive mean ricer thingy.

I have raced an M3 with intake and exhaust from 40-120 and put 4 lengths on him BEFORE my CAI/tune package and watch the M3 keep up with this srt-8

Speaking from personal experience I took an SRT8 from a roll about 3-4 months ago.  He pulled next to me on the hwy at 60 mph, dropped to 3rd and we were off, by the time I was redlining 4th he was about 3-4 CLs back.  You should have no problem

....from a dig I couldnt tell you

I've ran with an RT Daytona with exhaust work and I pulled on him...  But from what I understand the SRT-8 is an entirely different animal, faster than our cars in stock trim (low 13s with a few in the high 12s).  Many of you seem to have taken these with just tunes, and I'm not disputing that, but I think it may be attributable to the driver mod...
But to the OP, I would be confident in your car, from a dig or roll, but especially from a dig.  Get some new skins.

Mine is a 06, GT, 5M. I run the Predator canned 91 tune with timing added for 93 gas. I cut my teeth on a 68 GTO, 400, hurst 3 speed in 1970. My GT is faster than my old GTO for sure. It's definately NOT faster than the SRT. I've taken new Subaru sti's from a dig and roll, no problem after the 1st 300 ft or so on the dig. Our Stangs will jump off well, but after an 1/8, the 300 Srt will be gone. I love the car but won't be a homer about it and say it'll beat anything just because its my car. The Stang IS alot more FUN to drive though, looks tons better and is a younger feeling car. It's just not as fast as the 300 SRT. The R/T is nowhere even remotely similar, they're easy meat....Doc

According to Car and Driver, the stats are as follows:
  • Mustang GT (Stock, 300hp) 5.2s 0 - 60 and 13.80 @103 in the 1/4, top speed drag limited to 147
  • Charger SRT8 (Stock, 425hp) 5.4s 0 - 60 and 13.48 @ 105 in the 1/4, top speed drag limited to 165
Pretty even if you ask me ... and the SRT8 weighs 677 #s more (4160 v. 3483). All that extra weight needs more power.

Can't really be fair and say you can romp on one if you're modded and he isn't.

There are people on these forums that have ran 13.4's in stock trim with their GT's....
