SRT-8 = 1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 13.48@105.31

You should be able to beat that.

My tires are more bald than a babies ass unfortunately so I dont race from a dig...I can take him from the highway

Plus I just got my stage III McCleod clutch put in today and it drives way better

If your going to beat a str8 you better get a 6.1 hemi to go with that clutch.

the 300SRT8 is actually faster than the charger...not sure how, or why...but they are!

I raced a modified 300SRT8 at the track and he was running 13.2...EVERYTIME...with the sunroof open...and it was modified...

So if your running the power you say with better gears, etc...and assuming he is unmodified, you will beat him, thats if you can drive...

These cars are powerful, yes, but they are not fast...they have poor gearing and have to pull around ALOT of excess weight...

the R/T's are slow...and a stock GT blows them...but the SRT are quick...but if your modified and he is stock, then i would say its all you..and your driving...

stock SRT-8's and stock GT's are running identical 0-60 and 1/4 mile times... you should win...

uhhhh no it wasn't an RT.  Its kind hard to mistaken the two.  The SRT-8 looks like a totally different car with the hood, front end, rims, exhaust, and spoiler.  He even had the hood popped trying to cool it down and it said HEMI 6.1L.  I wouldn't post if I wasn't sure.

If you get a good launch and shifts you should be able to win easily. I was at Firebird raceway in a couple months ago and it was really hot around 90% at night and there was a total of 5 cars there. One of them was a new Charger SRT-8 and we raced 5 times and I beat him by 5 CL or more every time. This was before I had an O/R h-pipe and Delete plates too. I was running 13.9's @ 101-102 and he was running 14.4-14.8's @ 97-98. The heat really hurt both our times. People see 425hp and think they will get smoked, but they are over 700lbs heavier than our cars and have worse gearing.

I think you were racing a charger RT, no, i know you were.

on the highway, last one I raced, which had an intake and exhaust, I put 2.5 lengths from 60-125~, then went to 5th, and let off., and watched him roar by, and keep going.
They have hellacious top end with that 6.1
they are a good car, but too fat for the muscle.
Me and a friend with a 2008 SRT-8 are going to line up on camera when I get my new tune in.
Ill keep ya updated on that one.
But I have a lot of bolt ons and gears, along with a 26" tire making it almost 4.56 gears.
I have raced the entire SRT lineup now, and (besides the viper) the jeep will give you the best run.
i had to play catchup from a dig to the 2nd shift, and then it was a steady pull after that, but he still hung in for a lil bit, I put 2-3 on him...
but as to your question, the only thing holding you back on a dig run with him will be your 20s, and the lack of sidewall for bite, a roll will eb a good race, and you should get him by at least 1.5 cars im guessing, if hes fairly stock.

this is true, there is only hype concerning the srt-8's. (except the jeep :) )
the chargers shine from a roll, thats it, and its not that bright of a shine.

There is a guy in my complex with a srt8 and he says his car will loose against mine. He  raced 2 other s197 body styles at the same time and lost to both of them, he said one of the stangs didnt beat him by much but the other blew them both away,my guess is one was stock or mildy modified and the other was s/c or turbo.

He thinks my car is fast because its loud

Well surely you can see that a 98mph trap speed isn't even close to correct for that car, especially since you were trapping 103.  They will trap anywhere from 105-108 stock.  Trap speed is almost a costant with any car even if you miss a gear or spin first, you should still trap near the same.

I know I was a little surprised myself.. He did have a passenger with him but that wouldn't hurt his time that much. The fastest one ive seen at the track ran 13.4 @ 104. From what i have seen they are mid 13 second cars.

I used to beat them all the time with the mods I used to have by 1 to 2 car lengths, it was alot of fun with my little V-8 walking those big hemi's.  Now I don't race them because they're not any competition, last one I raced I beat by at least 10 car lengths, the guy pulled up next to me rubber necking the heck out of my car trying to figure out what just happened to him.

Ive seen SRT8's do horrible also, low 14's from them. And ive seen mid to high 15's from RT's. The SRT 8's are even, but they seem to pull better from a roll. -Jon
