Well People,It's a done deal. All the way to the dealer I said to myself Sonic Blue SVT and it sounded so nice,But when I got to the dealer my Ass was floored by this gorgeous Silver Mettalic 10th Anniversary. It was worth the extra money as the interior has these beautiful Red inserts that just give it the ballsiest look. Now for the drive. The sales Nazi was with me so I could not really put it thru it's paces, but what little I was able to do told me all I needed to know about the brute power in this car.WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW,I think this thing will give my 427 Chevelle a run for it's money. If your thinking of one and you have a chance to compare the 10th with the std. SVT i strongly encourage you to see the diiference, although not huge it is noticable,as the 10th has different wheels (spoke wise) and the seats and the badging. I hope everyone out there that has a dream to own one, sticks by it and does what ever it takes to own it. Good luck to all of you.<IMG src=smileys/smiley10.gif border="0"></P>

Hi folks. I'm new to the forum and to the ranks of Mustang owners. Just bought my first one, a white 68 fastback that I picked up in Knoxville and brought back to N. Tonawanda, NY. It's about 90% complete. Anyone know if there's a club in the Buffalo area?

Hi Willie, in my opinion, it's better for you to save some money then swap your 6cyl with a 5.0 V8. Swap kits are available. But I'm not sure about the transmission.. I mean is it gonna hold up or even fit to the bigger engine.

The reason why i got the kit is because i think it makes the car look more aggressive a unique. I dont want to be another one of thoughs mustang owners driving around thats why i got the cobra and the bodykit. I even got a roof scoop and i am going to get a custom two-toned paint job (top of car will be triple black). go to www.roushperf.com (http://www.roushperf.com)and you will see the paint job if u go to cars and you will see a black and silver convertable. Iwas thinkingof getting the cobra r kit but i dontthink i want to get side exhaust. now im gettingengine and supensionupgades. i probably lower thecar first.

why get a blower when the car has one. even if i did id get vortech or powerdyne. or even maybe saleen. i might even get a bigger drag ratio (dont know what size though) and pully for the eaton sc. also a chip, eibach springs bassani x pipe flowmasters i heard the throttle body is big enough cold air intake maybe even bigger feul injectors (dont know much a bout them either) ID LOVE TO HEAR SOME SUGGESIONS ABOUT PARTS</P>
i want to do the interior as well. Carbon fiber dash kit, billet accesories cobra sidewinder seats etc.</P>

I have a 99 GT Convertible and it's all stock and will pretty much stay that way. I figure if I keep it stock at least I will be original. Everyone and their cousin has a Mustang that has some sort of modification to it <IMG src=smileys/smiley24.gif border="0">. There is no way to be different if your going to modify a Mustang, cause everything has already been done. After modifying the vehicle it still is only a Mustang......Now modding a Benz, now that is original <IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">!!!!

you must not know much about cars. read up on the s/c for those cars. you will find that the kenney bell s/c and the boosta pump will get you in the low 11's with everything else they way it is. that is one hell of a mod if you ask me. we put one on my friends car and it was like a total different car. we tried every thing coming and going until we found this s/c and pump ease of installition it goes where the stock one did. and you can sell the stock one. you say bigger fuel injectors? why you must not know much about mustangs. and you say that you want to be different but your list of mods are just like everybody elses. do something that people will talk about. haveing a unique exterior and then the plain jane under the hood sounds like an import kinda idea.

Modding a benz is not original, it's stupid. Everyone knows (even me Buzz) that when you put mods in a vehicle is lowers the value of a car! Thats why I bought a mustang, because it allready has a poor resale value and I love the car so much that i do not want to sell it and I want to keep the car the rest of my life. Also...where in the piss in wisconsin did you see a late model Cobra with a two-tonedblack and yellow paint job, 5zigen rims, a black widowhood, wing, and body kit and roof scoop? Anyway... European cars have a great re-sale value, and years from now say in the year 2050 people would be more impressed with a stock benz then a personalized one. I am making the mustang my own and all I want to do is make heads turn when I drive buy. Whether you like the car or not your going to turn your headeither say "Holychit, what'a badazz car." or "I like the paint job" or "What a waist of money on a car" or you can be a dick and say "duh, hes just copying imports, duh" I don't care what people think in the future andI dont carethat much aboutnow either. I haverespect for your decision on keeping your car stock, its your freakin car, do what you want to it. I dont really agree with the whole "original" thing though. Nothing is original except exterior (allthough some people seem to think otherwise). But at least you know you can keep your warantee and your cars value doesnt drop.</P>

DO YOU THINK THAT IF I KNEW A LOT ABOUT CARS I WOULD BE ON THIS FORUM ASKING PEOPLE FOR ADVICE? I MEAN THE "<FONT size=4>IM LOOKING FOR SOME IDEAS ABOUT UPGRADES IF YA WANNA HELP. THANX" </FONT><FONT size=2>SHOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD TIP OFF, BUT THINKS FOR CALLING ME OUT ON MY IGNORANCE. Alli thought was okay i want a more air and colder air so a cold air intake with a k&n filter, maybe a ram air hood if possible and i heard something about a pulley or something that can get more air andboost viathe eaton supercharger into the cylinder heads and is cheaper than buying a brand new blower. Then i said to myself "self what about feul to go with this air what can i do about that?" then i thought "Gee ya know FEUL INJECTORS sounds like something that controls the amount ofFEUL that goes into the engine maybe if i get BIGGER ones it along with a feul pump then i will get more air and feul to the engine, hmmm" then i thought of msds ignition system for spark. yeah but im ignorant. then exhaust flowmaster, i liked them on my old v6 when i was in the military, and insted of making an h pipe ill get the bassani x-pipe.</FONT></P>
Look man trying to call me out and say that im ignorant is fine cause like i said im still learnig but engines are all alike in some way shape or form, but to say that I am just trying to be like another import owner with a cobra is stupid. You make it sound like im getting a kit, NOS (wont touch the stuff), fugly eurolights and an exhaust that FARTS. LOOK AT THE USERNAME GUY!!! YOU CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH TO AN ENGINE THATS WHY EVERYTHING IS DONE THE SAME AND EVERYONE USES THE BEST AND THE KIDS THAT OWN IMPORTS ALL DO THE SAME CAUSE ITS ALL THEY CAN AFFORD. KITS LIGHTS EXHAUST INTAKES DOWNPIPES WHEELS AND CHIPS. THE REASON THEY HAVE THE SAME IS CAUSE THEY ALL BUY THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THE BEST OF EACH PART. WHEN I SAY IMPORTS I MEAN JAPANESE I LIKE VW BENZ AND BMW AND ANYTHING OVER $100,000 TOO BUT IM NOT PAYING THAT MUCH FOR A CAR.</P>

If I have a dyno sheet at acar show that saysmy car does 550hp at 6700rpm the cars torque is at 550 ft/lbs. no one is going to care about how i got that much performance out of the car unless they want to do it to there's. Some joe shmoe is not going to look at the sheet and say wow nice job and then look at the car and say "duh, you got the same kind of performance parts the dude 4 cars down has your car sucks, uh duh." Idont care how i get my car to do the numbersI want as long as its not NOS, its not something that willruin the engine and its the least expensive way to do it.

Hi I'm new here and I just got into cars. I was looking at cars and this Mustang just stuck out, the body just looks so cool to me. 1993 'stang. I'm thinking of going withe the LX, lightest trim, to mod out. That is just me though.<IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">
The only Mustang I've owned was a '65 289, 4bbl, 4spd. What a blast!! I am now paying for (although officially it's my son's) an '87 5-spd, GT convertible. I really didn't want him to buy this particular car, as it appeared it was rode hard and put away wet. Turns out, it was. Heater core must have been leaking, as it was by-passed. A/C still doesn't work. The pully for the magnetic field has seperated. The top was missing the left lift cylinder (or ram). The fuel guage didn't work. There are also little nits. And worst of all, needs paint and a new top. </P>
My question is, do any of you Mustang experts know how to install the lift cylinder on the pins? I got the cylinder plumbed, and the motor filled and blead. I just don't see how to get the cylinder "attached" to the mounting pins. </P>

No fancy names just ( me ) I live in southeast Missouri and have a thing for cars, Mustangs in particular. Unfortunately my salary doesn't afford me the luxary of having the exact Mustang I want. So I work with what I've got. I currently own a 94 gt. Bought it two years ago with 60k miles on it. It was in great shape inside and out, only down fall-automatic. Since Nov 2001 I have added all of the usual bolt ons, cold air kit, under drive pulleys, 65 mm T.B., headers, H-pipe, Mufflers, (catback is coming soon) 3.73 gears, white faced gauges, dual gauge pod for nitrous pressure and air/fuel ratio, and Zex nitroud kit. I will be swapping out the automatic for a manual by the end of Feb. I love my car but still have a lot of things that I will be changing. If I could swap it for anything I would have to go stright to the 03 Cobra. I enjoy going to special events like the Mobile i Ford Challenge, and the NMRA nationals in Bowling Green every year. Thats about it for me, just another Pony fan who can't seem to get enough.

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=black size=2>Hello I just joined the forum today. I purchased my first Mustang on 1/9/04. It is a 2004 (40th Anniversary Edition) V6 (I wanted the V8, but I'm 21 and the V6 has cheaper insurance rates), black with charcol interior. As of right now its all stock, but I am saving my money to start making modifications. I look forward to meeting other mustang lovers and possibly finding some car clubs in Philadelphia.</FONT></P>

From one newbee to another "welcome aboard" </P>
A brand new '04 40th Anniversary Edition?! V6 or not I am still a little jealous. And dont let them fool you, a friend of mine has an 02 V6 and it runs low 10's in the eighth mile. I know that doesn't seem like much but the fact is I watch V8 Camaro's run high 9's all the time. And speed set aside, I bet your new ride looks really sharp!</P>

Hi, I have a black 87 LX. It sports a carbed 351W. Presently a stick. I will be converting to an auto this spring, due to an accident. The interior is stock from a 92 LX. Just a note there, 87s are much different than 92s. I have Welds shod with Hoosiers. Body mods include 2 1/2 louvered cowl hood, Xenon side skirts, Cobra rear and Saleen front, with a GT hatch. Suspension is mild.....lakewood lift bars are the only real mod. I have aluminum heads and a paxton on the shelf right now for it, but the auto comes first. Hopefully this spring as well. At any rate, thanks for the welcome.

Whats up, i just signed in yesterday.</P>
i have a 98 atlantic blue cobra, i just bought it about 9 months ago, with 40k on it. i have stillen body kit, chrome cobra rs, x-pipe with flowmaster exhaust( no cats ) superchip, headers, steeda suspension, short shifter, and im thinking, from talking to ford techs, about 4:10 gears. looking to get a supercharger, probably a kenne bell.</P>
i was told when i bought the car that it has $5000 invested in the stereo. alpine head unit, fosgate amps, 3 12" JL audio subs in enclosure, and all kinds of electrical boxes i have no idea what the hell they are, but the trunk is full (i think i can fit about a case in it), and it knocks pretty damn hard!!</P>
this is my dream car and ill never sell it, ive wanted a blue cobra ever since i was probably 12, and im 28 now. i think my lifes fulfilled now!! <IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"></P>

Nothing wrong with the 289, dad had one running around 12.8's. Loved the thing til he ran a show room stock 340 Duster and pop only won by about a car length. He then bought a 340 Duster only to grenade the rear end the first time he put slicks on.....<img src=uploads/95LT1/26CC3_blowup.gif border="0">

Hi, I am new to the forum. I own a 2003 GT with some mods. K&N Cold Air Intake Kit, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, Superchip tuned, C&L Intake Plenum, Accufab 75mm Throttle Body. Billet aluminum switches on the doors and wood grain (Dark Red) interior trim. Rest is stock power and leather seats.
Funny how I enjoy my Flowmasters more than my leather seats! :)

hi, my name is brad. well i guess ill start out by telling you what cars ive have/had. first car was a 98 taurus, sucked. second car was a 00 celica, slow as s**t. third car was an acura integra ls that i turbocharged and other stuff, it ended up with 240 whp vs the stock 110 whp. and after all that money spent on that honda i came to the realization that i hate hondas, and i hate front wheel drive. any car that you have to put $10k into to run low to mid 13's is dumb. so i just recently sold that to get my dream car, a 2003 svt cobra. ive wanted one ever since i saw the article about it in road & track a couple years ago. so for right now im sporting an 89 volvo 240 to get to school/work.</P>
i go to school at universal technical institute, studying to be a tech for either porsche (doubt it), audi, volkswagen, or mercedes. well i guess thats it, thanks.</P>

<IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">Hello! New to this board. I've posted in a couple places here, but this thread seems to be 'the' place to introduce myself.</P>
I have a black85 GT h/b that I plan to bring back w/ quality resto/ mods. It's fast enough, for now. (0-60 in 5.5 sec.) After I get the 'little things' taken care of, I plan some chassis & suspension mods, then add some power<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">. </P>
I'm fortunate to live only about 20 minutes from New England Dragway. I started going to Street Nights last summer, and plan to go regularly. So, if you're headed there, watch for MyLNor, but don't blink!<IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"></P>

Hello: Hope I am doing this right...</P>
I am an avid car enthusiast. I always liked Mustangs, but recent pressure from my 15 year old son (and my wife) makes the possibility of purchasing a 68 or 69 a possibility. I hope this site can help me find and enjoy one.</P>
I happen to be looking for a 69 (maybe 68). My wife will be driving, soI consider A/T, PS, PB and A/C to be mandatory. A conv. would be nice too.</P>
I'd also be interested in knowing if A/C is something that can be retro fitted easily if I find an otherwise qualified car.</P>
Thanks</P>

Hello all - I've finally got her. A 1965 ragtop with less than 40,000 original mi. Been dry rotting in my mom's garage for almost 20 years, for sentimental reasons she wouldn't let it go - but she's moving and decided it is time. Body is in good shape and was running great when last driven.
I think its a great candidate for a complete restoration to show, and that's what I plan on doing, but probably won't get too involved right away as we are looking to build a new house in the near future. I will be checking in for advice often as this will be my first restoration and I want to do it right (the first time).
Looking forward to the project and meeting you folks on the forum.

Hi everyone. I'm just a new-by. Been watching this forum for some time now, and looks like there are alot of fast cars here. well, this is what i got,
02 gt
short throw (steeda)
underdrive pulleys(steeda)
minature shift light (with pill kit, hidden in dash area)
k&n airintake (fipk)
flowmaster system (catback)
superchip (not installed yet< just got 4/16)
My last run was 1/4 mile track at 14.1 flat.
I really need to get into the 13's, so i am thinking about a new gear. how about a set of 3:73. Does anyone have some opinions?
I don't know what i will run with the superchip program. I will find out next month when i got to the track again.

hey whats up 02gt? some slicks would get you into the 13's. the gears and slicks would deffantly get you in there. 14.1 is not bad. i believe you could tune on what you have and get there the high 13's. try different air pressures and differnet launch rpm's and keep a log of it and the just go with the best overall performance. the slicks and gears are different so be ready. with the addition of slick i would beef up the suspension to go along with them.

well 2000 i would just start with the x-pipe and mufflers and then worry about the headers later if it is the sound you want. the x-pipe and just asy flowmasters will get you that bad ass sound.

Hi all,
I am a 47 year old male. I was a mechanic most of my life, but now my brother and I have a hobby shop together. I was raised around fast cars. My father always had over powered autos, but they were all Mopars. Dad was one of the founding members of the Ramchargers when he was an engineer at Chrysler in the early 60's. I just restored and modified a '69 F100 I bought used back in 1978. I swaped it from a 240 6cyl to a 289 originally. The rail guided rockers knocked a keeper off and the engine swallowed a valve. I decided to build a 302 that would turn 8,000rpm and never twist it over 6,500. It has an old Edlebrock F4b intake and 750 Holley with a #31 squirt, #68 jets and a #45 Power valve. The heads are 58cc with major exhaust porting and 1,94/1.50 valves. With Flat top pistons the compression is about 10.8:1. The cam is a .485 lift with a 288 duration. That was the closest I could find to the 271hp/289 cam. It has heavy springs with guide plates, moly pushrods and early non rail guided rockers. Crank is stock with Milodon rod bolts in the factory rods. Clearance is a little loose but with the Melling oil pump it idles at 25psi and reaches 110psi at 6,500. I have the factory 3spd and a 3:50 to 1 in the 9" rear. I am about to install a wide ratio T-10 and a 4:10 posi unit in it. Then I will start on my project that brought me here. A 1967 Mustang coupe. It was a 289 auto originally, but the owner had swapped for a 351W. It has a solid body but needs about every thing else done over so it looks like another 5 year project. Not sure yet what I am going to do with it. I want a powerful car that is not unpleasant to drive and that my wife will enjoy too. I guess the 408 stroker kit and some Edlebrock RPM heads might be a start. Anyway, it's good to be able to get help from people that know Mustangs. I used to race against them when I had a 66 Olds 442, but I never owned one until a month ago.

My name is Tony and i have a performance red '01 3.8 Mustang. Hoping to mod it up when i can get some money (college can eat your wallet worse than a car can...Ohio State if you are wondering). i have loved mustangs for as long as i have known what a car is. The car i really would like to have and work on is a 64 or 65 stang. But the new cobra will be coming out about the time i graduate so that may be next.
