americanmuscle.com has em as well, what are your plans for the car? you could benifit more from 4.10s, you will also need a bering kit

you also should get an LSD, again depends on your plans for the car and how you drive it,

ideal set up

3.73

4.10

bering kit

Detroit true trac LSD, reason i recomend this is cause i personally have blown up 2 7.5" ford diffs with a pretty much stock auto 3.8, (same rear end)

Seriously I went thru the same thinking when I wanted gears & posi in my V6 Mustang. This is a mod that going to cost somewhere between $900.00 and $1500.00 for all the parts and install. Gears are $200-$300, posi unit is $200-$500, bearing kit is about $100.00 and install is going to set you back $400-$600. newtakeoff.com has an 8.8 w/3.73s for $880.00 plus shipping(mine was $165.00 to my door!) This is a very easy install, you end up with a much beefier rear and no whine. Think about it.

you shouldnt have whine even if you swap out stockers if the shop you go to can do it right

built 7.5 > stock 8.8

Those prices are really high IMO.

Nino has the gears and diff for $440 shipped. Any decent speed shop can do the install for $250-300 at most.

If you shop around, you can be rolling with a solid install for around $600.
