Default what is the best year Fox Body

Hey guys, I will soon be heading to college and I really am interested in a 88-93 Fox body stang, what is the best year as far has hp, gears, reliablilty, etc.
I am really looking for a black LX notchback with around 80,000 miles, and a 5spd of course<IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">. Thanks for any help, oh and how are they in the snow? I mean I know people drive them in the winter just wondering, thanks!</P>

From 86 up they had the fuel injection and in 89 they went to the mass air cars. some in 88 but only california. If i had a choice i would go with an 89. i like the steering wheels instead of the ones they changed for air bags. they already had the mass air and so forth and so on. Bottom line if it is a 5spdmustang with only 80,000 you cant go wrong. The snow is no fun in a mustang unless you have a 4cyl 5spd notchback with some snow studded tires outback which can be a blast if you do not care about the car!<IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"></P>

The black interior is definitely the way to go. The gray tends to become discolored and faded easily and the red/maroon not only fades to an ugly burnt orange tint but it is way too 1980's. The black is just awesome on the Mustangs, in my opinion. My buddy just sold a 93 LX notchback 5spd...red with black cloth. Talk about a sweet color combo on that car. The black interior totally made it stand out amongst other Mustangs.</P>

..88 GT here..California Edition so i have mass air.. myself and 3 of my friends all have 88 stangs.. different colors and interiors also. mine is red with tan cloth interior and a tan top. looks pretty sweet i would say. I dont think the tan top is stock color but people have also said that 88's dont come w/ a rack on the trunk. mine has one and is in good shape too. I prefer the hatchback against the notch back anyday.. but out here in Cali, u gotta have a droptop. thinking about either tan leather or black leather next on the list of things to do. </P>

Go with either an 89 or a 93 cobra if u find one.. then sell it to me. lol</P><edited><editID>hot88drop50</editID><editDate>37929.6763310185</editDate></edited>
