LMAO - Sorry I do not work for Ford! Good try though!!!

Since I am a Mustang Nut, I tend to weasel as much info and contact for the mustang program as I can. Plus I worked on some of the dealer and manufacturing reporting systems for them so I constantly try and find NEW sources of info on the Stang!!!

As an engineer I will say +1, we constantly are forced to design things less than optimally due to customer or management stupidity.  Always ends up costing in the end but whatever, as long as the paycheck clears.

And I agree a forged rotating assembly would be great but for 90% of car buyer the powders rods and pathetic, oh uh hyperteutic (sp?) pistons are just fine.  Honestly I am surprised they will take 450 rwhp with is like 75% more than what it was designed to do.  Check out chevy products and most of their engines wont take over 4-6psi without poping with is less than a 50% addition of power.

And even if the rods were better something else would break at 475rwhp and we would complain about that.

For what the mustang is, I think its great.

Personally like I said I feel confident that 8psi on a whipple HO will run forever, and for that matter 10psi probably as well.  But if life has been a lesson for me it is that if 1 in a 1000 will break, it will be mine.  So a mere 425rwhp should do nicely.

Thanks,

The GM gen III's don't need F.I. to make good power numbers. A N.A. 6.0 can easily make over 500rwhp with some simple mods. Their short block parts are pretty reliable at these levels. Our dyno mule LS which puts out 540 at the crank, finally blew up, but that was after 3000+ dyno pulls.

You mean ls3?  We were talking about ls2's at the most.  So what does it take to make 500rwhp on ls2 or ls3 without a shot of nitrous or blower?  I assume you are talking about cams/heads/etc.  I doubt there are to many people out there running 500rwhp on their $46,000 vette anyway.  If I paid $46,000 for my mustang, i know i'd be more reluctant to modify it.  Anyway, give us the simple mods.

Ouch "If I paid $46,000 for my mustang, i know i'd be more reluctant to modify it." I paid slightly more than that for my Steeda!

I am not and have never been a big chevy guy, but I do love the Z06 and CTS V, but other than that no.

I was talking LS 1 and LS 2 since that is what is in comparable cars to the stang ie camaro/firebird.  Agreed with those motor I would be more likely to do heads/cams/intakes before forced induction but what I was saying they are limited as well in terms of manufacturing and parts.  From my meager experience I believe the LS 1/2 have powdered rods and hypuetectic pistons just like us mod motors.  And the few friends I have from the darkside dont even consider FI for thier rides, they go straight to nitrous.

As stangers we have what 20+ forced induction kits for our cars and they dont.

Where I am going with alll of this..... well at this point even I dont know, other than every car manufacturer designs for stock hp rating + a safety factor.  We are lucky our safety factor is 75% higher power than stock.  That isnt too shabby.

Ouch is right!  I'd have bought a C6 or tried to find a deal on a used gt500.

I wanted Unique, original and NEW. Plus I have 2 kids who like to ride in it. So 4 seats was a must! I am not unhappy! I love my Steeda!!!! If I wanted typical or ordinary I would have gone with a Roush or Saleen.

Plus you can't knock Steeda's perfromance record. They have more win's in drag and road-courses than Saleen and Roush together!

Dude are serious? I have respect for the Steeda but your car looks like the GT with a civic spoiler on it! I favor the Saleen over the Roush but the roush is even way better looking than the Steeda. Saying the Roush or the Saleen is typically or ordinary makes you look like a dumbass. I know my car blows yours away in looks anyday and I am sorry for getting defensive, but don't insult my car when its better looking than yours. There is a reason why there arent any Steedas out there...think about it...you also paid $15K more than I did

Dude,

You are retarded!  I would love to see your POS any day of the week....either light to light or road course.  I will show you what a Roush will do to your girl car.  And I mean that as respectfully as it sounds.  I feel sorry for your kids having to learn about Mustangs from you.

What a shame... you seemed like a guy with some smarts and some credibility until you decided to take a shot at cars different from yours. Check out the Saleen/Roush section and count the number of times those folks bag on Steedas. Never mind I'll do it for you: ZERO. Not because your car is better, but because we have more class.

BTW, love your earlier comment about being "humble" -- where was that humility when you made these statements?

Verdict: knucklehead.

I've heard good things, but they didn't seem to know what came with the whipple HO kit.  They tried to tell me it didn't come with dual pumps, rather that was extra.  Probably just an honest mistake.

Ooops, Roush is the winningest team in motorsport history.

I'll let the Saleen owners brag about their time in the winners circle.

As for the topic of Whipple HO kits, I've heard is very inclusive when it comes to all the little things needed and works well.
