i'm doing a 4.6 forged motor or a 4.6 stroker motor with a 90% probability of a kenni bell on top. don't get me wrong our 4.0s are great motors just some guys were popping them around 500 horse. plus i found some great deals on motors rear ends etc. fordfanboy is kinda my inspiration.

i've never been a fan of engine swaps..because wouldnt the cost of the car when you bought it + a new motor and all the othe crap you need + the time you spend/cost of install end up putting it at far more than it would have cost to just buy a powerful car from the start and do some stuff to that one? meh i guess this way you get to say "hey look what i built" instead of "hey look what i bought"

either way, good luck

thanks on the good luck, i should have about 34k including cost of car to complete from front to back. me doing this myself should save 2k-5k for installations of various parts. i've done a extensive search for parts most out of the detroit-ohio area. for example motor with 5 miles 1100.00 new take out 8.8 rear 350.00 etc.

i think i saw in magazines where both those motors were done to the 05-07 stang. we're doing the same swap to my boys 03 mustang gt 2 valve. thats a little more tricky. we have to install cam lockouts to take care of the vct and get 04 back cobra throttle body to change the throttle by wire to cable.also exhaust adapters to put 2 valve longtubes on the 3 valve heads and other misc.

I picked up lots of parts for my swap yesterday. I've had a little change of direction. Instead of building the crap out of this new motor I got we're going to build my boys 03 GT and maybe find a fox body for a trackwhore. But as far as this build-swap I'm curious to see what cost it would be to do this using new, takeoff, and takeout parts minus the cost of selling my drivetrain. I will post pics and pics of receipts in the next couple of days as soon as I get everything unloaded and in the garage. The first place I went to Casco in Ypsilanti MI. was amazing. They had walls of takeoff bumpers, sideskirts etc. They had hundreds of engines, takeoff 17'' tire wheels at $400.00 a pop.

Whats the deal with that Casco place? I've heard the name tossed around a little.  Is it open to the public?

Bad idea...
You'll pick up 200lbs on that front end and you'll have only 300hp
