To me, that just looks like a debadged KR. Maybe with a few trim changes. My .2 Rdot9 11-23-2007, 08:23 AM eh, not too bad, but +1 on what's under the hood, if they keep the look same but make it faster, i'm sure sales will increase alot still. MexGT 11-23-2007, 09:31 AM for me .... thats was the concept for the new KR..... not for the 2010 stang, GT Newbie 11-23-2007, 09:43 AM UGLY [:'(] bascho 11-23-2007, 10:42 AM That's a photoshop job guys.....not the 2010. I've seen the 2010 and believe me, everyone will like the changes. Burnsy 11-23-2007, 10:49 AM what do you mean you've seen the 2010 Caution 11-23-2007, 10:51 AM +1 ORIGINAL: MexGT for me .... thats was the concept for the new KR..... not for the 2010 stang, bascho 11-23-2007, 10:52 AM ORIGINAL: Burnsy what do you mean you've seen the 2010 I mean I've seen the 2010. Because I'd like to keep my job, I'm not going to be saying anything I'm not allowed to. Burnsy 11-23-2007, 10:57 AM all i care about is the engine, the outside is fine as it is...is it still a 4.6? how much at the crank? bascho 11-23-2007, 11:00 AM ORIGINAL: Burnsy all i care about is the engine, the outside is fine as it is...is it still a 4.6? how much at the crank? Um.....that's the kind of info that would get me fired. I know of someone who was fired for posting info on the new V6 that is being used.....I would definitely be fired for posting about the V8. VanGTCS 11-23-2007, 11:14 AM The job market is really strong, at least in Canada. If I were you, I'd tell all of us the details, then just get a new job. Not only will you make all of us happy, you get to have thatexcitement and challenge of a new job - everybody wins! akumaky 11-23-2007, 11:25 AM basho, is the car changing in 2009, or just 2010? bascho 11-23-2007, 11:35 AM Guys, I would love to tell you everything I know......but I'm not joking about being fired.....and probably taken to court. The Mustang and F150 are top secret vehicles around Ford. Few outside of PD know anything abouttheredesigns because they are extremely importantproducts intheir respective market segments. MTAS 11-23-2007, 11:37 AM The guy who posted the clip had this to say: "I made it in Photoshop on the base of the Mustang GT500KR. The Front part has the most change. I got a 1969 Mustang my self, so this was also an inspiration." Burnsy 11-23-2007, 11:40 AM post ohskigod 11-23-2007, 11:44 AM I have faith that the new 2010 Stang will be fine competing with the new Camaro. to be honest, if this Camaro is supossed to have 400 hp etc. I wondering what its price point will be, if its in the low 40's, i think even the stang now will outsell it byquite a bit. The stang does not have to be faster than the camaro stock to outsell. thats been proven many times over. Thats not to say at least 350 hp out of the 2010 stang to be in the same ballpark wouldnt be prudent. I'm sure Ford will figure it out. They've had too much success and good press with the current stang to piss it all away at this point. hope I'm not wrong  157db 11-23-2007, 12:23 PM Looks like a fish with its mouth open from the front. wmtheflash 11-23-2007, 01:33 PM ORIGINAL: ohskigod I have faith that the new 2010 Stang will be fine competing with the new Camaro. to be honest, if this Camaro is supossed to have 400 hp etc. I wondering what its price point will be, if its in the low 40's, i think even the stang now will outsell it byquite a bit. They've had too much success and good press with the current stang to piss it all away at this point. hope I'm not wrong  I think they'll easily meet the price point on the Camaro even with 400 hp. Look at the Pontiac G8 coming up in January. That has 361 hp and it costs about $29k, I think. GM should be able to squeeze 39 hp from somewhere... Ford is going to need a fresh design on the outside and more power to compete with the Camaro. Personally, I think the Italian design that was in all the magazines not to long ago would work with some changes. I was riding with my brother yesterday to grandma's house and I was surprised how common the Mustang is on the road nowadays. I'm getting a new hood in a couple of months just to set myself apart from the herd of Mustangs around here. As nice as I think the S197 looks, I'll be first to acknowledge that a performance car can't get stale and still compete. You can let styling go a little longer in a car that only sells 40k units a year like a Corvette, but when you're selling a 160k vehicles a year then the shelf life is much shorter. If the 2010 refresh is as minor (new bumpers and hood) as the photo posted in this link, then I'll be pretty disappointed. aode08 11-23-2007, 04:14 PM whoever drove that , drove it like a bitc:D no chirping or nothing Dennis074.0 11-23-2007, 04:23 PM bascho, your a better man than me....I wouldnt be able to keep it to myself. Guys stop asking questions, would you really want to get a guy fired for telling you what a car is going to look like 3 years from now? Johnnytuinals 11-23-2007, 10:24 PM I am sure you will see a newer design for the 2009s stang gts in the summer of 2008. WOW thats only a few months away........JT thewarmachine 11-23-2007, 10:45 PM Somehow I don't see people liking a new Mustang design as much as they liked the S197. It has too much old school charm. stangboy555 11-23-2007, 11:06 PM so is it 2009 or 2010? Seems like Ford is going to make a change up for th 09' will they turn right around and make the 10' completely different or are they the same? ratnacage 11-23-2007, 11:31 PM ORIGINAL: bascho That's a photoshop job guys.....not the 2010. I've seen the 2010 and believe me, everyone will like the changes. So without revealing anything "secret," can you give us a subjective opinion? Will it blow us away, or just be a mid redesign? Are you confident it will meet and/or surpass people's expectations, namely the hard-core crowd? Will it be "worth the wait?" nonstopred 11-24-2007, 01:37 AM ehh its okay looking iraziel 11-24-2007, 08:00 AM ORIGINAL: thewarmachine Somehow I don't see people liking a new Mustang design as much as they liked the S197. It has too much old school charm. I agree to an extent, its a combination of things for me. I was thinkin when they first came out with the new modles, Why not just make a limited number of classic clones from the 60's(withsome cammer blocks [8D])instead of look-likes. You know they have time to engineer it. EricM 11-24-2007, 08:16 AM ORIGINAL: thewarmachine Somehow I don't see people liking a new Mustang design as much as they liked the S197. It has too much old school charm. They could change things they didn't get quite right in '05 and give it even more old school charm. A reworked rear flank that had some "shoulder" to it like a '67-'68 would be nice... And maybe a trunk lid with an integrated ducktail instead of a tacked on wing. ThisBlood147 11-24-2007, 06:41 PM If they gave the rear quarters some "hips" and slightly reshape the rear to make it more aggressive.....then that would be fine enough for me. ;) darcnytemare 11-25-2007, 12:19 AM ewwww....no bueno. the front end looks wierd. i think the design team should be able to come up with something better than that. unless we're forced to be like chevy and discontinue the mustang for a while just so we don't lose out in the sales..... My .2 thats 20 cents! lcbrownz 12-08-2007, 06:59 AM Every mustang website now has pictures of the 2010 mustang mule (heavily cladded). The taillights (the large alternating red and white lights) look too hideous to put on a Mustang. Ford should keep the backup lights out of the taillight assembly and keepa simple vertical tribar red configuration. Or if Ford wants to separate the reds, then separatethem with chrome like the 1970 Mustang. The nose of 2010 does looks similar to Shelby gt500 but not the same. |
