I debating on whether to take off my white Side stripes or continue to keep them on. I have a Black Stang with the white side stripes. I see these Black GT's with no side stripes and they look fine without them BUT once I remove them thats it for that. Do people really like the side stripes? Does it really enhance the look or is too "Girly"? I'm a guy BTW...

I'm think the stripes look great.  If I had colored rocker panels I would take mine off, but I think with the black plastic rockers the side stripes are fine.  My Mustang is white with black stripes, and I absolutely wouldn't even think of taking the stripes off.  It's a very nice finishing touch for the side of the car, in my opinion.

I've actually had people specifically mention how good they thought the side stripes looked.  I'd say keep 'em.

It's all a matter of personal taste.  I like mine and don't intend to remove them - but I've seen a lot of black Mustangs without them and they look great too.

If you take them off and decide that you liked it better with something on the sides, you can always put on what you like. That's what I did and here's the steps it went through.

And this is what she has on her now.

I took mine off wanting to put another style on, now that they're off, I like it better that way. My friends have told me the car looks "classier" now. Thing is, if you remove them and change your mind later, they are only a few bucks on ebay.

I like the side strips on. Black is probably the color that looks the best w/o them, at least to my eye., so you can't  go wrong either way.
raubt's point about the color of the rocker panel's affect on the overall look plays into it as well.

Same here, I wouldn't drive it off the lot with those advertising banners taped to the sides of my car.

Consider pulling them off if they are the V6 garden variety.
OEM V6 stripes look goofy somewhat.
The PonyPackage stripes are much better looking.

I do like some side stripes like the c-stripes, but I tend to think that the S197 looks better with the stripes up higher like on the GT/CS.

I like my white side stripes on my Vista Blue, but if I had a black Mustang again, I wouldn't have the stripes.

I think it depends alot on color here too. I personally love mine with the white stripes on it, and when I see pictures of other Legend limers without them, I really think the car looks too plain. If you've got an all black car, I think the white might mess it up a bit.

I think that the Pony Package stripe is much classier looking than the regular V6 stripe. It's much thinner and more subtle, and doesn't scream MUSTANG the way the basic side stripes do. I like mine, personally, since they compliment my racing stripes. Personally I think certain colors look good with it, but not all. For example, I've seen some alloy Pony Packages with the white side stripe, and it doesn't look very good. Makes the car look kinda purpley for some reason. I think if I had a black 'Stang I'd remove them, though. I changed out my V6 rockers to the GT rockers and to me the side stripe still looks great.

I've kept mine on because I think with Mineral Grey, black accents look good but I've decided that mine are coming off this spring or sooner.  The reason being is that I want a less "busy" look.  I think the best looking Mustangs have a strong but simple look to them so with racing stripes and fender emblems and a hood scoop I'm adding ... I just felt like something had to go.

The PP stripe is much better and a second thought must be given before ripping them off.
I dont have them and want them. Go figure. Just cant figure out what color stripes works
with the dark RedFire Metallic.
We want what we dont have and debate removing what we do have.
