If you go to Baltimore Street Mods (.com) you can order many different varietys of stripes and order them with cutom text. You should check you options there esp. since they run around $30
personally I loved mine until I started modding the car, once I started putting more and more stuff on my car it just seemed like they were holding it back. so I took 'em off. looks alot cleaner now! I think they look good until you get rid of those nasty textured side skirts

I think that the Pony Package stripe is much classier looking than the regular V6 stripe. It's much thinner and more subtle, and doesn't scream MUSTANG the way the basic side stripes do. I like mine, personally, since they compliment my racing stripes. Personally I think certain colors look good with it, but not all. For example, I've seen some alloy Pony Packages with the white side stripe, and it doesn't look very good. Makes the car look kinda purpley for some reason. I think if I had a black 'Stang I'd remove them, though. I changed out my V6 rockers to the GT rockers and to me the side stripe still looks great.
I also think that the Pony Package stripe is much classier looking than the regular V6 stripe. The PP stripe is much better and a second thought must be given before ripping them off. I dont have them and want them. Go figure. Just cant figure out what color stripes works with the dark RedFire Metallic. We want what we dont have and debate removing what we do have.
Well, the PP stripe only comes in black, white, and gold. I think silver would look great, but they don't make it. My second choice would probably be gold. Black is a bit harsh for redfire in most instances, IMO. And white is too much of a contrast.

It's funny how so many Mustang owners feel the V6 rocker panel is, nasty or ugly. I don't see it that way and apparently neither did Carroll Shelby. Look on a Shelby Mustang and you will see the "nasty, " ugly rocker panels. I like them because I don't have to worry about rocks flying up chipping the sides or scratches. Because they are dark, it hides any dirt or water that may get on it.

+10, i actually like my rocker panels, I feel they give it a good contrast anyway. Plus, mine are absolutely thrashed from dirt and rocks flying up against them, so based on those marks, i would never think to replace a painted plastic part with that durable black plastic that masks damage so well.

+1 The black rocker panels, I like. I wouldn't change those even if I could have them painted for free. On a car color that goes well with black trim, I think they're perfect.

I gotta disagree, I bought the GT rockers for mine and have not had any problems with rocks chipping them. If that was the case the front bumpers would be even worse and my front bumper is fine to.

Great....5 years from now let's see if you can still claim it.

I have had my Gt rockers on for about 4 months now and i have to say the only chip on them is from when I originally got them from newtakeoff.com. I absolutley love the cars that carrol shelby designs myself but its more about what you like best and what suits the vision you have for your car. everyone has their own tastes and thats the beauty of it!
I took mine off after about a year. I like the stripes and think they look better on some colors than others.. but I wanted a change. It's a great "free" mod ;)
Certainly it is personal preference. My .02 cents is that our cars look better without the side stripes. I bought the white side stripes from EBAY to put on my black stang and once I received them I just couldn't do it. To me, the stripes took more away than it added. I like the flow of the body and I felt the side stripes interupted it, buy hey, if you dig it, it's yours...I will say this, I haven't seen an ugly Mustang yet!
I personally like my side stripes. But it helps that they are black against red. I'm not a big fan of the white and tan stripes I see. I've toyed with the idea of getting rid of them, but I'm kinda on a roll with the red/black theme. I think if I ever upgrade to the GT rockers, I'll probably lose the stripes but for now, they work for me!
When I decided with the black racing stripes on my Vista Blue vert, the white Pony Package stripes had to go! I've seen cars with the racing stripes and the side stripes and some of them actually look OK, but me personally, I like the cleaner look without them. Like others have said, it also depends on the color combo.
BTW, sorry for such a stupid question, but with all this talk of GT rocker panels vs. standard 06 rocker panels, are they that different? Or am I just not seeing it? Can anybody post a clear before and after shot of their car? If it is that great of an appearance mod, I may have another one to add to my list!
