I’m running across a somewhat strange scenario. I’m looking to upgrade to an automatic transmission on my GT500. I would like to take the car over 1000wrhp with this setup.  I’ve got everything covered with my local shop except the transmission. Anyway, they called Quantum in Vegas to find out if they could supply the transmission and parts to do the conversion. They said yes but that I would need to send my car there. They also said that Shelby would remove my VIN from the registry if I have mods done to my car by an unauthorized Shelby supplier/installer.

I’ve got a call to Ford Canada about this. If it is true, this WILL be my last Ford vehicle. Can anyone confirm this or is Quantum just trying to get me to send the car there…

We’ll be talking to Roush next to see if they want the business.

Patrick

Don't know about that with the mods.  Sounds a little bit off for me.  I would understand if it was like if the car was totalled or something or being rebuilt.  But for a simple transmission swap to make more hp?  Ill look into it myself also man.

Talked to my local shelby dealer this morning and they told me they have never heard this and pointed out the fact that you see on berrett jackson rebuilt shelbys being sold as shelby's when they were made/fixed/swapped by individuals.

This is what I got when I called the local ford dealer that sells shelby's here in PR.
BS BS BS .........  We/They can remove the warranty but not remove ur vin from the registry.  That is part of what you paid forwhen you buy a shelby. Andrew

The guys I'm using to do this are first class. They build car over 500K. They are expensive but are real good and quality is what I'm looking for. Quantum just lost around 6 to 8K worth of parts for being greedy then... I realize the warranty is gone and I really don't care. The VIN pisses me off so I will look into to it some more. I'm still going to do it even if they pull the VIN, I just won't buy Ford vehicles again that's all....

LOL!!!! Holly **** I think it might be your dad's shop then!  The shop I want to use is CCR Technologie in Delson,Quebec. It may not be the same Quantum but I'll get you the name of the person they were talking to anyway...
