In my opinion every time I see a plain v6 I just stare at it. It is the best looking factory s197. No lights in the grill, no spoiler, no bs wheels, no fake stripes, and no bs badging just old school style and sex appeal.
I take it you go to Cold Stone and order a single scoop vanilla cone....... I get vanilla too, but I like the little extras that taste yummy to me(lol).

ORIGINAL: poohflingr Assuming this response was to me, (because my name was at the bottom?) when did I respond to anything you said or attack your opinion in any way? Ya' see I don't know the King of Spain so if that was a direct response to me please clarify.
A reasonable assumption, but I didn't intend it as such. I don't know how to insert or remove a name-at-the-bottom; it was just a general and summary post.
Sorry. I'll try to be more alert to that kind of thing.
(Your name should appear at the bottom of this post. How'd I do?)
There is nothing wrong with a thread calling for and displaying "advantages of V6 over GT" or the like. It may be just an appeal for information, and a valuable resource for someone weighing the pros and cons, for whatever reason.
There is something wrong with the lack of respect shown by posters who: have nothing to contribute to the answers to a reasonable query, but who seem to feel they must say something in spite of that lack, or who have an axe to grind, and want to swing it around where it isn't appropriate, or who just like to hear themselves talk, even though they are clearly barely verbal, or who are absolutely incapable of following and contributing to a discussion, or who need to whine for some inscrutable reason.

I do have one more comment:

General observation and opinion.
In response to ...
I like the way you think there, Mister..................

Hhaha I dunno I think it's funny when people said they are tired of these threads and how one car is better than the other, and how a mustang is just a mustang. Which is true in any state, but the main reason of starting this thread was for information (for me) to figure out the true advantages, basically performance wise. I know the insurance and price is cheaper I just wanted to know basically the suspension advantages and the engine advantages, not that one car is better than the other. Just internally and how the two cars differ in ways that are not obvious. But it was nice to see how this thread went and how some people got a new found respect for other cars and how some get all defensive. It is quite funny and childish, I am sure there are many more important issues to get diffensive about other than your car. But whatever floats your boat.

i tried to keep it informative mamba and understood your reason for the thread, just couldn't come up with enough advantages. i was actually hoping others would have been more informative than they were so that i could be more informed myself. just turned into a v6/gt debate as usual........on a side note, the dyno day in rancho is still good to go, right?

other than a small difference in gas mileage, a price difference and a small weight savings versus the V8 most of the advantages of a V6 over a V8, and vice versa will be personal preference. A personal opinion can be an advantage to one person, and be meaningless to another.
GT's are faster out of the box. GT's have the classic 'V8' sound that most americans prefer. GT's are more aggressive looking.
I love both models, We have a 2006 V6 PP now. Next year we will also buy a GT. Not cause it's better, but because it's different. It is faster 0-60 so if that's important to someone the GT would be aa better choice. I don't live 0-60 in most of my driving. I like classic sports cars so the V6 suited me better for our first car. I also want the higher hp and sound a V8 makes so we'll just have 2 stangs.
As for any GT owners looking down on a V6 owner; most of that is smack talk. Something that will be in ANY car discussion, get used to it. And then there will the guy (GT or V6 owner) with a superiority complex, that's life. I won't be losing any sleep over anyone's opinion. Enjoy driving your Mustang, not what people say on a forum. Hell EVERYONE on a forum is 6' 5", tall, handsome and rich .

So, I guess the question is why select a new V6 over a used GT?
actually, that wasnt the exact question/topic, but close. it was simply a question of any advantages of a v6 over a v8. mechanical, appearance, reliability, etc. pretty clearcut.
