just like it says, are these kits worth it? holley and trick flow has em, and edelbrock too i think, or is it pretty simple to match parts if i bought them separate, also im looking at cost, it seemed like i would save some cash by buying the whole kit

those kits are no brainers for people who dont know what they are doing. they will work great together, but a properly selected combination purchased separately will net you higher HP and possibly save you some cash.
If your on a budget, take a look at the Patriot heads (theres a sticky at the top of the 5.0 section). they are less than 900.00 a set.

I'm no expert by any means on this stuff, but aren't those heads a bit larger than most with mild to moderate builds would use? For instance, everybody recommends the AFR 165's and the Edelbrocks are 170 cc and the Holley 165 cc. Are these the same as the ProComp heads that everybody was thrashing because the castings from China were sometimes shoddy, though greatly improved with some clean up?
