Hi all! If you know something about this kinda thing, speak up! If you don't.... well then don't bother! I have a 302 that originally came out of a 69 Galaxie.. that has found a happy home in my 85 mustang. What heads do you guys recommend? Money IS an object here. Here are my options: GT-40 head, iron with 1.94 intake, and 1.6 exhaust. GT-40X head, aluminum, 1.94 intake, 1.54 exhause, milled to 51 cc chamber. Edelbrock Performer RPM, 1.9 intake. I guess my main concern is compatibility. I'm not sure what chamber size is stock for this engine, so I don't want to spend big bucks on a head, only to lower my compression ratio. (remember, 1969 302 galaxie engine) If you have another suggestion, I'm all ears. Thanks!

Hey all thats interested.. here's something handy I found.

Its great for identifying what head you have, ... and determining what your compression ratio would be if you swaped heads out. Couldn't ask for anything better.

(find your engine... stock compression is in bold.)

So does that mean my 88 gt has a 10:1 compression ratio?

If you can afford it, go with one of the aluminum sets. Saves you quite a bit of weight on the nose of the car as well as having decent flow numbers.
