This sucks....I just blew my 4.2 stroker up. I was going up a hill and it started knocking and my oil pressure went away completely. Now it wont even crank. SoI think im going to sell my m112 setup and get a wrecked gt,mach 1, or cobra and put the motor in my car. Im tired of blowing up v6s....this is the second one in less than a year.

Did you put the 4.2 together yourself?

I'm also waiting to see the V6 fanboys come in and knock anything with 8 cylinders.

well it was just the shortblock and everything else i just swapped over from the 3.8....but dont worry its not lack of experience i have experience.

ouch, that would piss me off, i hate when you put time and money in stuff and doesnt do anything.

well i went down to the garage last night and it started right up. At first the rockers were pecking just like they did when we swapped it. Then they stopped and it sounded normal. Didnt drive it anywhere though im not going to until tomorrow. We think the oil pickup tube might have possibly come loose. But maybe its not completely blown cuz i really want the m112 on it. Oh well, we'll tear it back apart this weekend and see what the problem is.

Yeah but he had already been in like 3 accidents with his v6.

SOunds very strange to lose all pressure and then be back up to snuff in a day or so, other than tapping due to lack of oil. Definately make sure nothing migrated in during the swap.

well i decided to to fix my motor....i figured out that the idiot that put it together had rods 1&4 backwards and it spun a bearing. Pieces of the bearings were stuffed in the oil pickup tube.....

That sucks though, deffinitly look into it more though, all may not be lost, because at this point, you've invested too much to give up on it at the most critical point.

Or what???........And i got my hypereutectic pistons,rods,and a new crank ordered.....Should all be here tomorrow. Once I get them pressed on im ready for the rebuild.......

Well i had to put it on hold due to a new baby coming on the way (apr08) and i started my new job that is paying good, just not enough. I also found out that i am getting reactivated into the Marines, so i was gonna scrap everything and just buy a GT. It's not till recently that i found out that SSM released the adapter plate (no internet for awhile), SOOOOOi will be stickin to the six since it's paid off. Since i am getting reactivated to into the military, i was told by my command i should be makinquite a bit of money for that one year. So that will be a nice down payment on a house, some money into savings and some money into the stang (thanks to the wife). So as you can see i have had a lot going on, but the parts are slowly coming in (already have the plenum and the throttlebody) so it will just take a little time and money. I am still on track though!!

well thats good....atleast you havent had the stuff since june and its still settin in your garage :(
