I think the whine is pretty cool sounding...dont know which one would be quieter but hey...with all that power who cares about the supercharger whine!!!

I personally like the whining sound but I can understand if it gets annoying especially if you want a sleeper.  I would try a Vortech SQ (super quiet) or simply getting a quieter belt.  FYI-even though Gatorbacks say they are "the quieter belt", they are actually VERY WHINY.  That is why I got it...in addition to the extra grip.  I hear that Gates belts and Napa are much more quiet than the Gatorback.  Good luck.

yes, i would get forged pistons, rods, a cobra crank,  and an intercooled procharger kit unless you have mad cash and can splurge on the kenny bell twin screw.  with forged internals,   15 psi or more and you will be way over 500

you can find a used intercooler for a few $100.00
I thin the vortech is really quite
7 psi about 75hp
parts
tweecer rt
bigger maf
a good intake track to the maf
a better ignition with retard
accel/msd with rev controll
155lpm intank fuel pump plus a tex rex inline
1-2 step cooler plug
good plug wire/tune up
change fuel filter before an install
and a 10psi blow off valve
good synthedic oil change

If you don't like the whine, get a turbo system, it has more torque and equal amounts of power.

Look through the "more power" section and look for something to the extent of "what supercharger", I should be the last poster.

Very intersting info in there.

You can have as large or as little of a gain as you want, and with controllable boost levels, you can dial down the boost to make it just right, and then raise it at the track if you desire.
