Gonna use Ken's tune, as he built the intake and at this point is the most knowledgable tuner for it. Also, he uses this CAI on his own car which is an automatic like mine, so I asked them to send me the tune he uses.
Talked with Kelly on the phone and turned on the charm, so was able to get an even better deal than they had it listed for
quick question, the guy who built it said that it runs cooler since aluminum dispells heat quicker, doesnt that mean that it also takes in heat quicker? it will get rid of the heat once the engine turns off quickly, but when it starts to heat up, i feel like it will be more of a conductor than an insulator heat-wise. i am interested in it, it looks like a beautiful unit, but im skeptical about that one property of it

Info I found on other site: "Doug from BamaChips did a test that showed there was no difference in intake temp vs. material once the engine was warmed up. Plastic takes a longer time to warm up, but once its at temperature there wouldn't be a difference. Besides that, whatever takes longer to heat up, also takes longer to cool down."
From all of my research I've found that metal intakes result in slightly higher intake temps at idle, but once air is moving through the inlet while driving they all have very similar air temps. Hope that helps.
I ordered mine a couple of days ago. Ken has been a player Mustangs and tuning for a while and I've seen his name mentioned in more than one Magazine, and they always include something to the effect of 'guru' or 'expert' tacked onto his name.

That was one of the biggest factors in my decision to go with this setup. Another big reason was that he went about this project with the goal being to improve on the design of the JLT II (arguably one of the best performing intakes on the market), which he did. Lastly, I love the look of a polished intake.
Local guy to Ken and saw the prototype up close. Looks great and Ken is extremely knowledgeable. Its a great option out there and would have one if I hadn't replaced mine 2 years ago.
To the OP, thanks for making me aware of this product. I started out with the K&N CAI because I bought into the, "it doesn't require a tune bs." While it may run without one, it certainly ran better after getting one. I ended up swapping it out for a C&L unit which definitely performs better. Now it looks like it's time to upgrade once again. I like the performance and looks of this one so IMO it's worth making a change.

Unless you have money to throw around there is NO reason to upgrade to the new CAI....the C&L is one of the top 3, you are not going to gain anything with this CAI that a CAI and tune from Bamachips or brenspeed already has

Gotta agree with Howarmat on that one until I see otherwise in performance from this one. Unless you are really set on this particular model, if I were you I might just drop $60.00 or so and have your C&L Street polished as they look amazing that way. This guy polished his C&L and his throttle body.
