top gear roush vs gt500

They had the GT500 and the roush stage 3 on top gear tonight and the roush beat the gt500 on their short track by 2 seconds. When are they going to get the Saleen "E" on there. Even just the S/C. I would love to see the Saleen S/C vs. the Roush stage3 on their test track.

Was it a real GT500 this time? Original run between the two had a pre-production GT500 that used the Terminator motor and stock brakes. Not a fair comparison.

no it was a real GT500. They were talking it down because they put it on a dyno and it was 440 rwhp. apparently they dont know the difference between BHP and RWHP

Yea its an old episode...is it the one where they wrote 440 on the side of the car after the dyno?

ya sort of. they wrote almost after the 500. I sent them an email suggestin a saleen roush match up. doubt it will happen tho. Should make the roush guys happy... they dont want to see that....lol j/k

Brake horsepower is measured at the wheels - like as in the amount of hp your brakes are stopping.
Where as wheel horse power is measure...oh wait... at the wheels as well.
Two terms, same thing.

Edit - Bring on the Saleen vs Roush runs. I'm all for them as long as they are fair comparisons. That is why I brought up making sure it was the rel GT500. SVT owners got pissed when the first run wasn't the real deal.

Don't get me started on Top Gear and their "evaluations" of American cars. If you notice in this video the car is a v6 auto and he claims it has a "4.6 liter heart with 300 break horsepower." Need I say more? [sm=rant.gif]

Those Limeys take every chance they get to "rip" on an american made car. I think Jeremy "big baby" Clarkson said something along the lines of " the GT500 is a great car if you are in love with your sister or something" at the end of that segment.What douche bag.
