Default Emergency! Engine wont start! :(

hello,

i need some help! i have a 1997 basic-standard mustang. 3 days ago i tried turning it on and the engine was dead! the "check Engine" light and the battery light were flashing... and as soon as i open the door the alarm went off! I dont have the manual so i dont know what to do. Apparently the alarm sysyem was triggered and caused the car to shut down.I tried pressing the gas switch in the trunk and the alarm switch in the front but it hasnt worked! maybe theres a special pattern i need to do? My dad and i took the alarm chip out thinking it might deactivate the anti theft system and the engine will then start...but it didnt work either![:@] i've tried researching on this but cant find anything! any advice would be appreciated.

thnx,

Adriana

does the engine try to turn over and it just makes a clunking noise? sounds to me like a dead battery with just enough juice to set off the alarm. maybe that or a faulty wire somewhere
