I just purchased a 2007 GT500 6 weeks ago I replaced my original ford air cleaner with a K&N air filter. My question is: Are there issues with the K&N filter like easier/more air flow that might hinder instead of improve performance in relation to the cars computer? What steps should I take to go with the K&N. I may go for aftermarket upgrdes later but right now the stock version is a rush. I will keep reading and writing here cause I have learned alot in just the few hours of using this forum. It may not be the fastest car on the road, but I think it's the coolest. Any help will be appreciated.

Let me say first congrats on the GT500!!! I wish i had the money to get 1. I could if they would sell the darn thing at sticker price!! Now did you buy a K&N drop it filter or the cone filter?????
Hey thanks Mustang3GT07 I am poor now... I am gittin older, if I died before ever owning a car like this I would have missed the point.. Just the drop in filter.

The drop in K&N you will be fine. I was thinking maybe you put on a cone filter without a tune i was about to scream lol. But you might get a couple hp out of it and you might not. But it will be nice and easy to clean but its better then the crappy stock 1 haha.
Well the mechanic at the dealer told me the 4.6L GT has had issues in the past with replacement drop in filters but he didn't recall the v6 or 5.4 having difficulties. I didn't notice any significant changes, though the gas mileage seems to have dropped a bit, I may put the stock one back in and check the mileage again Maybe I'll try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so to restart the cpu. My wife says I am obsessed with the car, and I should call it Christine :) I may tend to over analyze with out the proper tools for the job though...
