I talked to Lidio at Alternative Auto today and asked how much it would be to install my CMCV deletes and UDP, he said about $250-275 and it would take about 2.5-3 hours.  How does that price sound to you guys?

As some of you may know, I already tried to install the UDP myself and was unsuccessfully.  I don't really have the time to try again and I figure while I'm having him do the UDP I might as well have him put in my delete plates too.

that price sounds fine to me. Just tell them to get it done in two hours and only charge you 200.

I think I'm going to go ahead and schedule an appointment to have it done.  My brother had a Vortech supercharged put in his 98 Cobra by him, maybe he can knock the price down a little bit for a referral or something.

Ya know it doesn't sound to bad and if something goes wrong with the CMCV install with the tune or something it can be fixed right there. Beside youdon't want to jack something doing that UDP again.
Good luck!

The price sounds fair, UDP's cost about $80. to have done. As far as the Delete Plates, if I'm not mistaken I think you need a tune as well.

udps=2 hrs of work
CMCV=1 hour of work

for a shop 2.5-3 hrs total so 275 might be high....i wouldnt pay more than 200, the CMCV are really easy to do, easier than the pullies IMO

I agree with howarmart, I think it is a little high.  $100/hr.  What are other people paying performance shops per hour?  It seemed like when I called around most places were $70-80/hr which should have you at $225 at most.

Man I should get into the business of installing cmcv delete plates if you can charge people an hours worth of labor. When I did mine it took me a whole 20 minutes the first time.

Seems high to me too but Lidio is very fair and his tunes are great. He charged me $60/hour for install of the Whipple and that would mean 180-240 dollars for 3-4 hours of work for your install. See if he can give you a deal for having been referred by your brother. He is real easy to negotiate with IMHO. Hope it helps!   J

I think I'm going to try to install the CMCV plates myself so I only have to have Lidio install the UDP.  He said that the UDP install alone would be $100.

Does that tune work/design for delete plates?

that price is the same he charged me this spring for the same work.

I then had a custom tune done.

I heard you can't drive ( fail safe mode) untill you tune after plate install!!
better check, if you have tune install yourself they are very easy

I already have a tune file to correct for the delete plates.

I'm going to be attempting the install myself Saturday morning.  Then hopefully, I'll take it over to Lidio some time next week and have him install the pulley while I wait.
