I live in SW Oklahoma.  I would like to buy a 2008 Shelby GT500 but I have a reall problem paying more than MSRP.  (Plus too much over MSRP and you get into Z06 territory)  Does anyone know of dealers offering them in the Oklahoma and Texas area without juicing the price over MSRP.  I want a Coupe.

best bet is to try ebay and change the search options to your area!

If you are looking for a Z06 kinda car, the GT500 willl disappoint you. The GT500 is the ultimate MUSCLE CAR right now and I don't see anything in the near futur that can change that. If you are looking for a true muscle car, you won't mind paying 50K over MRSP.

$65,000 for a GT500 is $20,000 less then a $85,000 ZO6.  $20,000 That's a long way from being in the ZO6 territory!!!

Buy a GT and supercharge it.  For that price you could get a GT,  build a forged bottom end, and supercharge it till you 600rwhp and still have money to give a much better suspension than the GT500.  Why waist money on that car?

You need to look at Z06 prices again....

http://www.kerbeck.com/

$66,500 is a whole lot less than $85k.

Here's a secret for ya. I almost bought one but I stayed back due to certain reasons.
Anyhow... get on internet and go to the ford site.
Go to the part where you can look up dealers.
Go to TEXAS.
Call the little dealerships in the po-dunk towns.
When the GT500's FIRST came out I found SIX dealerships selling for MSRP or no more than 2 grand over.
Texas is getting alot of em and the small towns are willing to part with them so they can get rid of them.
Sounds stupid to some maybe but I guarantee you can find one.

Ok, I followed the link. That one is $66,500.00 That would be $71,155 after Taxes and even more with all the dealer fees and add ons.  I wonder why that One is $66,500 when all of the other 12 ZO6s they have are more then $71,000 and as much as $78,540 Plus tax that's $84,037.80!!

Mine you there are no new ZO6s for sale at any Dealer in Southeast GA.

MSRP on some of their other ones are up to $78k, but they go for WELL under MSRP.

Sticker on the one for $66,500 is $71k, apply a similar discount to the other Z06's to find the selling price.

Taxes and DMV fees apply to any new car sold, so that's sort of irrelevant.

My point stands that The Z06 isn't an $85,000 car, and it takes 10 seconds of google searching to find one in the $60's.

OK not $84,000, $80,000, I paid less then $62,000 out the Door for my GT500 VERT!! The Coupes are $4,900 less then that. That's still $22,000 less then a ZO6.  There are still none for sale in Southeast GA.

What's your hangup with this? The Z06 is not an $80,000 car. Base MSRP is $71k and no educated consumer pays MSRP. It's not like it's that "stripped" either. I'd leave out Nav, and chrome wheels to save $8k myself.

You want one a little closer to you? I don't know where in GA they are, but Maxie Price Chevrolet is a large Corvette dealership that usually is pretty close to Kerbeck on price.

No matter how much you close your eyes and stamp your feet chanting "you can't buy a Z06 for under $80,000,you can't buy a Z06 for under $80,000,,,,,, " ad naseum, it won't magically make it true. Larson Ford in Lakewood, NJ where I am buying my GT coupe has a GT500 Convertible with a $20k ADM on it, bringing the price before TTL to over $71,000. So far, they're not moving on the ADM. I'm sure that you'd agree that only an idiot would pay $71k for a GT500 'vert, but it stands that in my area, I can get into a Z06 for less than that particular GT500.

How again is the Z06 $20,000 more?

I just purchased a new(14.1 miles on OD) 2008 Vapor Silver GT500 yesterday for 1000.00 over MSRP. I have been looking for some time and had just received some pics of a '07 from maryland and the phone rang. It was a local dealer I had bought from in the past and he said he had a Vapor Silver car With the Black Stripes for 1000.00 over. I grabbed some cash out of the safe and went to take a look. It has the Nav system and Ambient lighting. I asked if we could seal the deal and I take Delivery on Jan2(Day after Tax man regs) I now have a contract laying on my desk as we speak.  I can not wait for a dry day!!!!!

We just paid 2K over for the exact color combo we wanted. Black with Alloy stripes. Got the car from Weikert Ford in Lake Wales, Fl. Real good guys to deal with. No hassle or anything. They have a few more on hand. Call my sales guy Jared or the owners son Phillip Weikert and tell them Lethal sent ya. You won't be dissapointed.
