Well i was attempting to do a complete motor swap in one day today and would have had it but one gasket ruined it. I was told by the guy that rebuilt my motor the first time that he put a rubber reusable oil pan gasket in it so i didnt get another one. Well i get the oil pan off and find that there is NO FREAKIN GASKET!!...So I call advance auto and the cant get one till tomorrow....So now im shooting for a complete motor swap in 2 days....wish me luck

Should of gone to autozone...
I would be happy with a 1 or 2 day swap. Dam, this makes me think how much more i have to do before i'm done with it. Take any pics?

So let me get this straight.  Just simply dropping in a F150 motor into a our 99-04 v6 mustangs will net us more horsepower than stroking our own engines to a 4.2L?  And everything bolts up?  Nothing else to do except drop in a F150 motor and you get instant power?  If so how much horsepower / torque will you get.  I'm very interested.

Haha I get to lazy to log on AIM.  Things are going good.. I did get a ticket for "following to closely" and "passing in a no passing zone".. But i guess that's done with now.  i'll hit you up sometimes.  So this leads me to my next question on the 4.2L.  SO dropping it in will net me how much horsepower / torque?  Curious because it seems to good to be true I could probably find a decent used F150 around here for cheap.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say dropping a 4.2L in from an f150 will net you .... However much horsepower a stock 4.2L put out! (thats without doing any mods to it)

Just to give you some type of an idea:
3.8L 2002 Ford Mustang is rated at: 190hp@5,250/220tq@2,750
4.2L 2002 F150 is rated at: 202hp@4,800/252tq@3,400

Get the '97 4.2L rated at the highest of all of them. Slightly higher hp and tq than the beloved 5.0L.
It's not quite plug and play, you need a few things like the '01 and up oil pan to clear it. Heads are mix and match. Upper intake on the 4.2L flows about like a highly ported Mustang upper, but due to it's height, you'll need at least a 3" cowl to tuck it under.

I must say i'm a bit losts and disappointed all together.  Because when i looked at the SSM stroker kits they claimed to add 50-70 horsepowers depending on the kit.  But when I see the stock f150 motor, it doesn't seem to be worth switching a whole engine for a few horsepowers a simple bolt on could do, like UDP, Intake Spacers, Gears, etc..

Enlighten me if i'm wrong.  Kinda noobish in the technical department.  Thanks for all the input guys and sorry for kinda Hijacking your thread 03sixbanger, lol.  keep us updated man i'm eager to see the results :)

The fact that you think an intake space will give your power shows that your a bit noobish!

Anyway gears dont give power, intake spacers dont give power, UDP free up power. Your not gonna get 50hp from any of those mods.

Good to know.

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/pdf/SSM2007catrev3PowerPaks.pdf

I was comparing this kit from SSM to the original f150 motor swap.  The stage 2 claims it adds 70 horses.  And i'm assuming swapping the engine out from what you say will net 50 horses?  I'm trying to see what I can do to somewhat add a "kick" to the stang.  Preferably I would like to get close to a stock GT speed w/o forced induction.

Thanks Again
