Wow...Another beat off that doesn't know his ass from a hot rock.    What did I expect from a Saleen owner?  Seems to be the norm with you guys.  Perhaps you'd like to sack your overpriced Mustang up against my POS run of the mill sedan?  Or better yet.  How about my 20 year old Fox Body.  Think you can hang with either?

If you've spent ANY amount of time at a drag strip, you'd see that most of the cars there running 7, 8, 9 seconds are mostly automatics.  Manual valve body, big stall, trans brake.  I mean, honestly...You really don't know this information?  Ask around.  Or better yet.  Stop off at a drag strip one of these days.  Perhaps you'd learn something.  Then you can spout off like you own the place.

WOW, a GTO owner running around in a mustang forum talk about bored?? And plz feel free to let us know which race or drag cars or durby cars any car u can think of that is an actual performance car not ur pos run of the mill sedan GTO.. Sorry i must say autos are for pu@@ies... my posts are done here.... Not getting into a pi ssing match with you..

what difference does it make what he drives?  he also has a Mustang that will, if Nothing else, keep up with your saleen...

spend some time at a drag strip, and pay attention to the transmissions in the FAST cars. most of them are automatic or air shifted transmissions.

And until you know something about cars, i suggest that you keep yourself, and your uneducated comments elsewhere. Paying a ton for a mustang obviously doesnt mean that you should be throwing around statistics.

Keep up with?  LOL!  I'm pretty sure it would keep up with 2 plug wires pulled, and a flat tire.

You guys are idiots. Know the cars before you talk **** about them. Sideways GTO is 400 horsepower stock. Whether or not your ride is modified he'll probably smoke it. I for one am not gonna look stupid talkin **** about a car that I don't know anything about. lol

You are an idiot C_yru_s99. Your car is supercharged and you barely reach 400 horses. Sideways GTO stock has 400 horses and doesn't even have a supercharger. Imagine what it would kick out with one. Like I said dont run your mouth without knowing what your talking **** about. Your just making yourself look like an idiot. Props to you sideways. Not a gm fan but I would love to have your car anyday. lol

Even though yours is clearly not supercharged?  Dude, we've all been around here a long time.  Sounds like someone filled your head and then sold you a Saleen.  It happens.  Do you really think you're the first one to roll in with a shiny new Saleen, not knowing a thing about it, and think you're the baddest kid on the block?

Stock auto vs stock manual the manual will win. That goes for any mustang ever made. Thats why magazines always test the manual, cuz their trying to get the best time out of it. If youv been around the site for a while and check out the S/S section youll notice that the best times on any year mustang are always manual, and that the best time for auto's is around 2 or 3 tenths slower in the quarter than the fastest manual.

and c_yru_s99 if you wanna talk trash post time slips...

IDK the logic for auto's is there...don't they have a way to program when it shifts? When my pop's had an 03 BMW something, you could program it to shift when you wanted it to...

stick may be way fun to drive, but an auto stang has limitless possibility, as long as you have a limitless budget that is....

as for GTOs, they are fast as ****, but imo still look too......plain?

and EVERYONE START PLAYING NICE OR IM GOIN TO TURN THIS CAR AROUND!

how are the possibilities different? you have so much more control over a stick tranny than an auto. every auto i've ever owned/driven stalls at redline and just coasts for a bit before shifting. in a stick you, spend a tad bit longer shifting than an auto but its not nearly as bad as that stall. and with a stick you can get every bit of your power curve onto the pavement a lot easier than just an auto.

and good point with the road tests mustangmadness7

^you can tune the trans to not do that anymore, any handheld tuner will do the trick, and then through in a trans cooler and shift kit and a stall,  you have yourself a well built trans to build a drag car around that has NO human error and shifts faster and more accurate then a stick

I don't know if this was brought up in this thread cause I am just to lazy to read it all....When the Mach 1 made its reappearance in 2003, one of the mustang magazines drag raced both the stick and the auto right out of the box (with a professional driver) and the stick was a little better than a 10th faster every time.
I believe that would be proof for an answer to the original question.
