Default Has anyone taken a swaped

I own a 99 cobra 4.6. I would like to put a 5.4 core engine into my cobra. I hear the cheapest way is to get a used 5.4 from a junkyard, forge it and put it in your cobra. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this, know about how much it would cost installed, and if so do you have any advice for me? Thanks

Ive seen some articles in magazines where its been done fairly easily, I think there was one done in this months 5.0 or mm&ff. But... youve got a 99+ Cobra motor... Id rather have that than a 5.4... unless that 5.4 was cammed and blown

A 5.4 bottom end would give me a lot more torque then my 4.6 though right? And it would give me the chance to beef up the bottom end with forged pistons and rods. Don't the Cobra R's have a 5.4 bottom end?</P>

The 2000R is a 5.4. Forged crank, billet steel connecting rods &amp;forged aluminum pistons.
