So for the past two weeks I cannot stop watching Terminator (03-04 Cobra) videos all over the internet...I have also been looking at ones for sale...I have seen some with under 10K miles for $25-30K...These cars look so nice and make so much power! I can spend $300 dollars and put down 420rwhp! I have been looking at how easy it would be for me to trade mine in for a Terminator...dont get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my car and I think it looks better but damn I love those Termi's! Can some of you "slap" some sense into me?

Your right!!! They can make some good power pretty easy. We just did a quick tune to a freind's  04'....14psi......bolt ons only, stock heton. The car will walk away from our Saleen 475HP project stang

It matters what you want to do. Do you want a fully blown race car that's streetable? Or do you want a nicer looking car that will still stomp on pratically all cars on the road (if you S/C yours)? I would stick with the Saleen.

True, true but the power comes at a much, much larger price tag...but yes I see your point

You're paying 25-30k for an older body style but nicer engine. Yes, the nicer engine is a plus, but the only plus. That's like having a hot 18 year old girl friend but dumping her and dating a 40 year old because she has more experience

Yea I know, Sorry.  Dam,Why did Ford have to design those 4V heads!!!  But don't fret, the 3V heads are that far behind

The sad thing is that spending under $1G you can make close to 450rwhp....conserv. tune

It is 2/3 paid off now...I am planning on adding a blower at the end of summer so hopefully I will slap myself after I get that installed

The Terminator is 1 bad mofo and I think by far has the best lookin tail end of any Stang made

However, IMO your Saleen is a slick, evil, demented machine and overall is better.
Also, consider your car is only a couple years old so while the Cobra may have a better engine you probably have more reliability with other portions of the car. Blow it and I think you will be happy for awhile

If you need convincing strictly from a power or power potential perspective, you're barking up the wrong tree.  Does the fact that they're heavy help you at all....

    Keep the saleen...... i know a guy that has an 04 cobra whith a kenny bell  pushing around 700 hp at the wheels ... and his best time is somewhere in the mid to low 11's   It seems that around 450 rwhp we all have the same trouble .... KEEPING THE POWER TO THE GROUND..... in a street car that is

I drove essentially the same platform as the Terminator/New Edge Mustangos for SIXTEEN STRAIGHT YEARS with my '90 LX 5.0 and my '95 GT 5.0.  I didn't have nearly the power of the Terminator or its IRS setup, but I am still confident to say you should stick with your Saleen.  Get the Saleen SC and the JDM tune (and upgrade your brakes, if you just have the stock GT brakes) and be content with outrunning and out-handling 99% of the cars on the road.

i think the cobra might be equal to or actually slightly more in the weight dept.
also,  call your insurance company and get a quote 1st....the cobra will be more
to insure.....my thinking is the cobra will be classified higher than a sc281....as demograqphics
may suggest that the cobra is pure hot rod,  saleen a pure sports touring car but some how does
not come across as a "hot rod".....even though it has the muscle......

How do you stack up against 3665 (advertised.....which means it's probably north of 3700)?
