Just raced a 95 cobra with an 01 cobra

A little backstory, last night a drunk driver hit and totaled my moms SUV. It was parked in front of the house and the guy moved it half way down the block he hit it so hard. THis morning she needed a car to take my sister to school and to go to work. I let her take mine because I was supposed to have off of work. My boss calls and says that a guy called out sick and he'll give me time and a half to come in and work. I told him to give me a half hour to find a ride. I called all my friends, they were either at school or work except my friend from school with the 01 cobra. I call him and he tells me he isn't leaving his bed because he is throwing up every 5 or ten minutes for the past three days, but I can drive the car if I want. He saided he owed me for helping him do the brakes. I go to work for a few hours then on my way home I stop at a light and a kid in a 95 cobra pulls up and says "You know you got riped off, right?" When I asked him why he replied "thats a fake cobra, my car will smoke that ****." He asked if I wanted to race and I agreed. We pulled off the road and waited for all traffic to move. I called my friend while waiting and asked if it was alright if I ripped the kid and he said "If it were me I'd do it, go for it." I got the okay from him and we lined up. As soon as the light turned green I got about a 2 car jump on the kid and stayed at least 3-4 lenghts the whole way through 2. By third I had about 5-6 lengths and stayed that far ahead. When we pulled over after he said that he only had a set of 40 series on the car and it was stock other than that, the only thing my friend has is an exhaust and maybe a CAI. I think he was too close to be stock other than mufflers what do you guys think?

If you had him by 5-6 cars, then that sounds about right. Just guessing here, but I would think that would be at least 1.5 seconds in the quarter mile. How did he act after you raped him like that?

He shut up real quick, He said "Well, it looked like some of the knock off fobras around here, so I figured..." I stopped him right there and said, "Yea, you figured wrong this time." When I brought the car back to my friend's house he wanted to know what happend so bad he got out of bed, only to puke all over the side of the car.[&:]

He came outside and it was like the exercist, he just started spewing all over the side of the car, I fell over I was laughing so hard, and his mom almost puked from watching him.

I still think that the car would be an absolute animal with a straight axle instead of the IRS. When you take off you can feel the rear sucking it up instead of throwing the power down to the tires. He said in the near future if he gets the job he interviewed for there will be a blower on the car and a straight axle in the back.[:)]

Nice kill. Watch those SN95 cobras though. IMHO foxes and SN95s are either slow or they have had many more years of modding done to them. hahahhahaa good kill and that is hilarious about puking on his car. I would have done the same thing if I were in either of your shoes.

94-98 cobra's aren't really any faster than new edge gt's I don't know why he would think he would smoke you one way or the other[8D]

the 96-98's have a bit more hp, but the 94-95's seem to be geared better, from what I have seen they run about the same in the 1/4 but after that the 4v will run away

Well this kids car was stock except for mufflers, and the only thing done to my friends is a bassani o/r x pipe, and a magnaflow cat back. I asked and he said he didn't have the intake, so I don't know what this kid was thinking.

I thought he at least had a CAI but I was wrong. I was surprised that the 95 even kept up that well.

95 cobra's have around 270 hp ( I know they are rated at 240 but most of them dyno around there) and run low 14's they aren't super dooper fast but they are decently quick

See I was under the impression that they only made 240 crank, so the 270 is news to my ears.

there are a few guys here who have made 260 rwhp with only an exhaust, I have seen plenty of other guys that have dyno'd around 240 bone stock
